Great to be at the fab Eden building in Salford for today’s @WalkRideGM event. Including gorgeous blue skies in Salford for mini walking and cycling safaris. Really interesting discussions around effective campaigning, framing, community engagement, uniting the movement and growing positive energy to create the conditions for change. 🌱 I joined a panel to share tips on engaging with Councillors and other politicians. Top tips were basically remember politicans are also human beings, ask what matters most to them, be curious, ask what gets in the way of progress and how to help. Shout about the good stuff as well as the bad. Persist.

And we're OPEN! After 2 years, 2 months and 22 days of being closed, our doors are finally open once again. We've made a lot of new friends while we've been closed, running activities and workshops in schools, libraries and community events across the city, but it's just wonderful to have our building back. To hear it come alive with the familiar sound of people having a great time together is just magic. I started Camp Patriot at Stevenson High School in 2018 with the goal of (again) putting together a camp program that I can be proud of. We focus on building community, trying new things, and focusing on growth. It sounds like families are happy with us, too. Camp ‘24 ended on Friday and, as of today, we’re 50% full for summer of ‘25.
