Great news for the people of Southwest Dublin and beyond. DART+ South West (SW) is particularly beneficial to people like me who regularly get the train to/from Cork and Limerick. This program introduces the new Hueston West station which allows intercity arrivals at Hueston to get a connection to the East of Dublin, including Connolly Station, Grand Canal Dock, city centre, Trinity College and much more. South West commuters will have quick access to railway links to Sligo, Belfast and Rosslare. While there are great Luas and Bus connections across the city, DART+ SW will ease pressure on these services, with the added benefit that railways are highly reliable and separated from traffic.

Solomon Island airstrip transformed 🚧✈️ Check out these amazing before and after shots part of the Solomon Islands Provincial Airfields Upgrades. Funded by New Zealand, Australia, and the Solomon Islands Government, our team is transforming an airstrip which is an essential transport link to Seghe, a 2.5-kilometre stretch of land in the country’s remote islands. From swales, culverts, and bridges to the runway and apron, Downer have made significant strides in enhancing the airstrip's infrastructure. The first photo shows the previously unsealed runway, which the Seghe local kids would often play on. The bare patches amongst the grass show where planes landed. Fast forward to today, you can see in the second picture the groundwork for a significantly upgraded runway. The light grey areas show where the chipseal is already complete. Once complete, new lighting and a sealed surface will see planes able to land even in wet or low visibility conditions. Something they can’t do now. This improvement will benefit both the local community and tourism, as larger planes will soon be able to land in Seghe, increasing capacity for passengers and cargo. Most importantly in emergencies, airforce planes like the Hercules will be able to land. This will facilitate delivery of emergency goods and evacuations if required. Our crew, largely made up of locals, has also been involved in several community projects, including the construction of roads and the upcoming repair of the bridge to the hospital. Currently, the team is building in place a football pitch! "The projects showcase Downer’s dedication to providing high-quality infrastructure in the Pacific Islands. I am proud of our teams’ achievements, and their commitment to both promoting inclusivity and upholding our social and environmental responsibilities. An Bord Pleanála have approved the Railway Order application to extend the electrified DART network from Hazelhatch & Celbridge to Heuston Station and the South city via Phoenix Park Tunnel. The project will quadruple customer capacity and will provide a greatly enhanced and more sustainable transport option for communities in Hazelhatch & Celbridge, Adamstown, Clondalkin & Fonthill, Parkwest & Cherry Orchard, Drumcondra and at a new station at Heuston West. Exciting news for improving bike and pedestrian safety! 📢 Nearly $45 million in funds is available this year to enhance safety and connectivity. The Biden-Harris administration has introduced the Active Transportation Infrastructure Investment Grant program, aimed at creating networks of improved bike and pedestrian infrastructure. This includes better connecting trail systems between communities. 🛣️ With this in mind, we want to remind everyone that as the weather is getting warmer, there will be more cyclists and pedestrians out on sidewalks, crosswalks, and bike lanes. 🚴♂️ As drivers, it's important to review our driving habits and be vigilant of pedestrians and cyclists! In my (biased) opinion, this is the coolest thing going on in Utah. Advanced Air Mobility is going to greatly increase connectivity across the state, reduce carbon emissions, and increase quality of life! I’m so excited to be able to watch this initiative unfold firsthand.

90% of Doncaster residents believe HAV will create good jobs. Over 80% of locals feel proud of the region’s role in sustainable aviation. Over 70% are excited about the 1,200 skilled roles expected from the production facility. We worked with CoFFEE (Co-Creation of Future Flight Ecosystems and Enterprise) to survey residents in Doncaster and the wider South Yorkshire region about what they thought of the planned Airlander 10 production facility in Doncaster and their thoughts on its impact on the regional economy. https://lnkd.in/gr8AQZjU This hydrofoil seaglider would be perfect for Hawaii. It could solve some of the issues for Ben Minicucci of Alaska Airlines and Joe Sprague of Hawaiian Air. In particular, I'm thinking about flights between Molokai, Lanai, and other islands. This seaglider holds 12 passengers, so the airlines wouldn't have to worry about filling a larger plane. Also this plane only operates in and over water, so it doesn't have to take up space at the airports. Max distance is 160 nautical miles. So, it can't fly directly from Kauai to Big Island. But, it can service the rest of the islands. And, it might even work to get non-profits out to their boats in the Papahānaumokuākea National Marine Monument.
