If you were booking a team building event, and you could choose an activity that perfectly summed up your business, your sector or your messaging, what activity would you choose? We love the chance to tailor our activities and events to suit our clients. One particular activity, Formula R, lends itself particularly well to a theme. This challenge is all about design. Well, all apart from the rubber band. We ask teams to set about creating a vehicle which is propelled by a simple elastic band. The trick is to create the best self-propelling structure possible - the furthest along the track wins - and the beauty is, the design can be anything you wish. When we ran this activity for a client in the shipping sector, they chose to make ships and we called it Ships Ahoy. As always lots of fun and spirited competition. What sort of elastic-powered vehicle would you create?

Sitting on one of Charles Eames's chairs made me reflect on one of his quotes: “Choose your corner, pick away at it carefully, intensely, and to the best of your ability; that way, you might change the world.” Eames' call to work on our chosen corners resonates with the current imperative for sustainability in design and manufacturing. By making conscious choices and driving innovation, we can collectively change the world. Transitioning to sustainable practices is an opportunity to lead towards a more sustainable future.
