Did you know that it took over six years for Chick-fil-A to roll out the policy that every employee should use the term "my pleasure" when interacting with guests? This is a powerful reminder that true hospitality isn't something we can expect our team to master on their own. Creating a culture of exceptional service is a deliberate, thoughtful process that must be nurtured and rolled out across the entire business. It requires continuous training, consistent reinforcement, and a genuine commitment from every level of the organization. Only then can we ensure that every guest experience reflects our values and dedication to hospitality. Let's strive to build environments where hospitality isn't just a word but a deeply ingrained practice in our businesses. #Hospitality #CustomerService #BusinessCulture #Leadership #TeamBuilding #ServiceExcellence #BusinessGrowth #EmployeeTraining #HospitalityIndustry #CustomerExperience

“How you maintain your station is a direct representation of who you are as a cook” Leadership in the Kitchen and Beyond I had an experience recently that reminded me of something an old chef of mine used to say: “How you maintain your station is a direct representation of who you are as a cook. In other words, if your station is a shit, your food will be shit.” It got me thinking about leadership in our industry. The way a restaurant is run—the cleanliness, organization, and how the staff is treated—is a direct reflection of who you are as a business owner. I encountered a restaurant owner who wasn’t running his place well, and it made me ask: Is this kind of leadership good for the industry? As leaders, it’s critical that we set the right example. Our teams and our customers can tell if we care about quality, consistency, and respect for the craft. Seeing poor management is a reminder of how important it is to uphold strong standards in every aspect of our business. Let’s keep pushing for excellence, not just on the plate, but in how we lead our teams and run our restaurants. #leadership #chefsquotes #kitchenleadership

We love buzz words like 'transparency' and 'authenticity', especially in leadership. It's true, these are traits every leader and every organization should strive for. They promote trust, create a healthy workplace, and build your brand. So, how do you create a transparent and authentic leadership culture? Sometimes, it's the simple things. At Crash Champions, the entire executive team commits two days, every other month, to a town hall with their managers and directors. They come to their market, answer real questions, host a meal and a happy hour. Nothing is scripted. Everything is real and no questions are off-limits. This is what transparency looks like, and it's a lot of fun to watch the culture that it's building.

Leadership isn’t just about guiding teams; it’s about building communities that thrive together. At Distilled Leadership, we teach leaders the art of savoring—learning to pause, connect, and truly engage with those around them. 🍂 In every culture, traditions of gathering to mark significant life milestones and celebrate achievements get passed down. Within this gathering is a culturally significant beverage - wine, champagne, beer - poured into glass and raised in unison to a cheer. It's a unifying moment for all to savor. We embrace this spirit of community and celebration by teaching leaders to find moments of meaning, purpose, and connection within their work and with their teams. At the end of the day, leaders and teams that want to can gather with us to learn the fine art of sipping bourbon and celebrate the hard work done that day…linking the craft of leading with the craftsmanship of distilling a fine sipping spirit. Sip, Learn, Lead isn’t just our motto; it’s a way to create communities that celebrate success - moment by amazing, rewarding moment. #DistilledLeadership #SipLearnLead #BuildingCommunity #LeadershipDevelopment #WholeBrainThinking #LeadershipMoments
