The undulating Barossa region is one of the most historic wine-producing areas in Australia. Located roughly 70 kilometres north-east of Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia, it is also one of the country’s most prominent and celebrated regions, showcasing the history, evolution and revolution of Australian wine. It encompasses the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley regions. Happy #shirazwineday! (Always the fourth Thursday in July each year – mark your calendar!) We are lucky to have many diverse styles of Shiraz in our portfolio. Here are a few facts about Australia's most widely planted varietal that you may not know: 🍷 Outside Australia, shiraz is mostly known as syrah —they are the same grape, although some winemakers refer to stylistic differences. 🍷 Australia is home to some of the oldest pre-phylloxera shiraz plantings in the world 🍷 While Shiraz accounts for 7% of global red variety plantings, its share in Australia is significantly higher at 46% @wineaustralia 🍷 A diverse range of Shiraz styles – from the older family-owned wineries with established plantings, to newer wineries that continue to innovate and do outstanding work crafting their unique style. How are you going to celebrate #shirazwineday? #australianwine #winebusiness #wine

Join us as we take Ricky from Blue Flag Visual through the process of investing in a Sassicaia 2016 vintage for his children. Sassicaia is undoubtedly one of the best wines to come out of Tuscany and therefore we see a lot of demand for it 🍇 We would set Ricky’s expectations at around the 10% growth mark for this case, given that he holds it for at least 5-10 years 📈 Find out more about investing with us 👇 📞 02039983486 ✉️ admin@vintage-associates.co.uk 💻 https://lnkd.in/eby7tXxv • • • #vintageassociates #finewineinvestment #winecollectors #investinwine #luxuryinvestment #wineportfolio #rarewines #winemarket #wineconnoisseur #investmentopportunitiesuk #alternativeinvestments #wineappreciation #winetrends #wineaging #collectablewines #liveexfinewine100 #winelovers #wineeducation #wineinvestors #luxurywine #globalwinemarket #clientevent #livexwine #winedatabase #sassicaia #sassicaia2016

We don't grow the bottles in the vineyard either. During these weeks, we often think about the hard work of the #winemakers and harvest helpers who pick the grapes for the new vintage in all weathers. They give their all to ensure that every grape becomes an excellent wine. 🍷 While the winegrowers harvest the grapes, we have it “a little easier” - we bottle the wine. But that's no easy job either. We have been networked with winegrowers and suppliers in the most important wine regions worldwide for years and always have our finger on the pulse of the international wine scene. 🌍 We buy wine from all over the world, store it in over 340 tanks and bottle it. In doing so, we protect the quality of the wine from its greatest enemy: oxygen, which causes maturation and oxidation processes. Thanks to our expertise in oxygen management and the process of headspace superimposition, we minimize the oxygen content in the bottle and thus ensure an ideal balance of maturity and freshness. With just a few steps and regular quality checks throughout the entire process, we ensure the high quality of the wine. Sounds complicated, but ensures a simple goal: maximum drinking pleasure. Cheers! 🍾 #Winequality #Oxygenmanagement #Winebottling #Wineworld #Oenology #Wineproduction #PSS

The decision to harvest a particular cultivar is one made after careful consideration. Viticulturists and winemakers are constantly assessing the weather conditions, the flowering, the berry set, and the vineyard health as guiding indicators of when to harvest. These keenly trained eyes and palates are earned, from years of working with each individual vineyard, tasting how the site ripens its grapes, and trusting oneself to make the call to harvest. The factor that still holds the most weight when deciding when to harvest is the taste of the grapes and the texture of the tannins from the skins. __________ #harvest2024 #winemaking #wineeducation

During the #summer vacations, many of our employees relax with their families in the mountains, in the Mediterranean or on the terrace at home. However, not everyone can take time out at the same time - our bottling operations have no summer break. While the harvests in the southern hemisphere have already been brought in, the harvest in Europe is just around the corner. We have wines in our tanks that need to be bottled now so that they can be sold soon. At the same time, we are of course keeping an eye on the global wine market. 2023 was a year of lower yields worldwide - the last time so little wine was produced was more than 60 years ago. Extreme weather conditions led to significant harvest losses in many countries. We expect a slight improvement this year. However, the clearing of 10,000 hectares of vineyards in Chile has also affected the wine market. In addition, there has been a slight decline in consumption, particularly in China. The wine market is and remains highly competitive. There is therefore hardly any time for our employees to take a breather. But an ice cream to cool off on hot days is always a must before the orders from our international customers are processed again with commitment and competence. 🍦 #PSSWeinkellerei #wineindustry #winelover #winemaking #bottling #harvest #viticulture #winebusiness #wineeconomy #winery

The earliest known wine was created around 5400-5000 B.C., as confirmed by carbon dating of ancient residues. Although no older evidence has been discovered, it’s believed that winemaking began shortly after 6000 B.C., coinciding with the rise of permanent human settlements through animal and plant domestication. #EventManagement #WineEvents #WineTasting #EventProfs #EventMarketing #Winery #EventPlanning #WineOClock #UnooshEventMagic

Among the recommended practices for the grape harvest is to avoid picking grapes during the hottest hours, as in such conditions, they are more prone to damage and dangerous fermentation processes. It’s no coincidence that in the hottest regions of Italy, night harvesting is practiced to take advantage of cooler temperatures. This saying refers precisely to the idea that a light, refreshing rain can allow for a harvest less affected by the heat. These days, some areas of Italy are experiencing heavy rains. Will this saying still hold true? We wish all producers the best for this 2024 harvest, and we can’t wait to taste the result of your hard labor! 🍇 #wine #italianwine #naturalwine #italnaturalwine #organicwine #wine #winestagram #winesocial #harvest #italy #italyfromtheground #september #grape #idiom

Far north of iconic wine regions like Bordeaux and Tuscany, Sweden is seeing a burgeoning industry of vineyards and a first generation of winemakers trying to carve out a niche. "There are millions of techniques, and I don't have a grandfather or grandmother to ask. So we need to figure it out ourselves," Lena Magnergard states as she walks through the short rows of grapevines at the Selaon vineyard an hour west of Stockholm. The former communications professional started the vineyard, the most northern Swedish site to have produced its own wine according to Magnergard, together with her farmer husband Erik Bjorkman in 2019 on the family farm. They made their first wine in 2021 but Magnegard, a trained sommelier, is quick to admit that as keepers of some 1,000 vines, they are still learning. "Of course, you can read up in books, but that is nothing like generational knowledge," she said, adding that they mostly look to France and its centuries of winemaking tradition as the gold standard. According to Magnergard, the emergence of wineries this far north is largely thanks to the development of new breeds of grapes in the 1960s and 70s, such as Solaris -- which was developed to be resistant to disease and is the main grape grown at Selaon....www.liz-palmer.com #SwedishWine #SwedenWinemaking #winetourism #swedishwinetourism #NordicVineyards #VineyardsOfSweden #ScandinavianWines #EmergingWineRegion #wine #winenews #Sweden #vineyard #winemarketing #wineeconomics
