What is the difference between cultural appropriation and cultural appreciation? Cultural appropriation often involves the commodification of cultural elements for profit without benefiting the source culture. Appreciation, on the other hand, aims to recognize and give credit to the cultural creators over time and avoiding exploitation and commodification. Be cultural sensible and respectful !
A reminder this weekend before Halloween. This is hands down a beloved time of year for me, but there sure are some super cringy and racist costumes. It takes but a moment to step back and think through a costume. #mycultureisnotacostume

Many people love to express creativity, but there’s a fine line between cultural appreciation and cultural appropriation. Cultural appreciation involves respecting and celebrating another culture, often by engaging with it in a way that acknowledges its significance and values. This can include learning about cultural traditions, participating in cultural events respectfully, or even wearing clothing that honors that culture when it’s done thoughtfully. On the other hand, cultural appropriation occurs when someone adopts elements of a culture, particularly those of marginalized groups, in a way that can be seen as disrespectful or superficial. This often happens without understanding the cultural context or significance, which can reinforce stereotypes and contribute to the commodification of that culture. Before picking a costume, it’s crucial to reflect on where it’s coming from and whether it might perpetuate stereotypes or offend. It takes just a moment to consider the impact our choices can have, and we can all contribute to a more respectful and inclusive celebration.

Halloween's over but sooo true. And we're not even speaking about when strategic activities are taken away your plate because they perceive they can perform them better than you. However, these moments can be an opportunity for growth. Instead of feeling discouraged, let's take these challenges as reminders to continue sharpening our skills, building our networks, and showing up as the capable leaders we are. We are more than capable of demonstrating our value and carving out our space in the workplace. Together, we rise, and together we elevate those around us. #WomenInLeadership

Designing comp plans making you batty? Do you reps feel like their quotas are all tricks and no treats? Don't let an optimized SPM strategy be something that just slips out of your Butterfingers, you should be optimizing every dollar spent on sales incentives. It will definitely come in candy when you're SPM is looking gourd-geous. I'm not playing Twix when I say that Forma.ai transforms your sales planning and incentive compensation processes from end-to-end, giving you the modern tools to optimize territories, quotas, and sales incentive programs.
