Last night, we had the privilege of attending Quickfire Digital - Shopify Plus Agency Engage with E-commerce event on the 68th floor of the Shard! 🤩 Throughout the evening, diverse panels featuring industry brands and tech partners provided thought-provoking insights into the world of data and AI. After yesterday we have realised even more that AI is such a powerful tool, that can undoubtedly help evolve our brand in new and exciting ways. For us, this will mean more personalised and catered skincare advice as well as improving our overall customer experience. Therefore, we are going to take some to reflect and really see how we can execute these ideas in the best way possible! We would like to say thank you to the team at Quickfire Digital - Shopify Plus Agency for hosting such an incredible event. We can’t wait for the next one!

Have you seen how Shopify makes it easier for businesses to operate with AI? Businesses like Old Money, Brooklyn Tea, Polysleep and Reprise Activewear weigh in > https://lnkd.in/gR6sspsN We recently partnered with Shopify to survey 18,000 consumers across Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, the UK, and the US. The findings highlighted that almost a third of consumers globally believe AI will improve their shopping experience. 🛒 Shopify then compared this to their survey of 13,337 standard merchants from the same regions and found that only 22% of merchants plan to use AI for customer service and experiences. 🤝 Due to this gap, businesses have a massive opportunity to stand out. 𝐀𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲: 𝐔𝐧𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐈 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐄-𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞 I’m spending the day at #ShoppingToday by ShoppingTomorrow - Thuiswinkel.org, the Netherlands’ biggest e-commerce conference. Think lots of buzz, sponsored booths, and those wonderfully awkward networking moments (I’m really bad at this). Earlier this year, I joined the expert group on AI in the ShoppingTomorrow network. We were divided into research groups to explore AI’s applications across all aspects of retail. Our group's focus? 𝐀𝐈 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥: 𝐇𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. We dug into how AI isn't just the shiny new thing but already a real tool to boost conversions and efficiency. Our bluepaper, "𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐀𝐈", dives into: - 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 that actually hit the mark. - 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭-𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬—right product, right time. - 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 that feel less "algorithm" and more "personal shopper". - 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞—because one size fits no one. - And looking a bit further: 𝐇𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 tailored to individual customer journeys. --- Our findings were presented by our research colleagues Christina Hadinoto (picture) and Joost Van Heusden, who shared our takeaways for brands looking to get on the AI train: 1. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐁𝐢𝐠 Pick one AI challenge and experiment. Baby steps are lower risk. 2. 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐬 Let AI handle the mundane. Free up your team for meaningful work. 3. 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐬 Tell your customers you're using AI. They'll appreciate the honesty. 4. 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬 (Full disclosure: I'm biased on this one) Doing things in-house works, but partnering with external experts accelerates speed-to-value. 5. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 Your successes can help the entire industry. Leverage communities like ShoppingTomorrow. Don’t hoard knowledge. 6. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐈 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 Keep an eye on AI trends—they move fast. Follow thought leaders or newsletters (shameless plug: 5000+ subscribers agree that our own #10things is great for this purpose) to stay updated. --- 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬, check out the #bluepaper (link in comments). #AI #Retail #Hyperpersonalization

Can AI improve the ROI of marketing spend? 📈 Through #Shopify, merchants collect vast data from customer interactions to sales data. 🗒 These include: - Page views - Click-through rates - Time spent on site - Purchase history - Product Preferences - Seasonal trends With this vast sea of data, the merchants find it difficult to get valuable insights. 📉 The Challenges look like: - Analyzing the data - Uncovering hidden patterns, preferences, and trends - Using insights around marketing - Product development - Customer engagement This demands a tool for data analysis, a solid grasp of e-commerce, and consumer behavior which can: - Manage large datasets - Detect patterns and insights - Uncover purchasing behaviour trends - Improve chances of conversion - Identify the most responsive audience segments Hence, AI-powered store optimization offers Shopify merchants a range of benefits to enhance their online presence and boost sales. 💯 Follow me for more updates on AI-powered store optimization.

Empowering E-commerce Evolution: The Upboost Journey Continues 🚀 Last month was a pivotal period for us as we embarked on a journey of self-discovery and redefined the future of Upboost. We shifted our focus from being just another Shopify tool to becoming digital merchandisers—and this transformation has been nothing short of revolutionary. With this shift in mindset, doors to new opportunities swung wide open. We've attracted significant clients who recognize the value of having a dedicated digital merchandiser on their team, driving overall shop optimization. Our go-to-market strategy underwent a significant change too. Instead of solely targeting partners, we realized the true beneficiaries of our platform are the end customers. Just like physical stores benefit from dedicated merchandisers, digital shops deserve the same attention. We're passionate about bridging this gap, which is why we've begun communicating directly with end customers, providing them with the dedicated merchandising support they've always needed. While our digital merchandiser platform isn't fully automated yet, we're making steady progress towards our goal of creating the world's most powerful merchandiser AI—one that mirrors the expertise of the most skilled physical world merchandisers. Currently, we're investing time in manual work to understand our business better, grasp customer needs, and refine our AI training process. Here's a snapshot of a conversation from this week, where our merchandisers update our customers every Monday on the latest developments. Exciting times lie ahead as we continue to pioneer the future of e-commerce with Upboost. #EcommerceInnovation #DigitalMerchandising #UpboostJourney

Thanks to Yotpo for hosting a great afternoon of updates and insights at their Partner Roadshow yesterday. Here's what stood out to us: ️ ⭐ Yotpo's latest AI review summary – providing a snapshot of key features and feedback based on product reviews will help customers make more informed decisions. It's also a particularly great feature for mobile where there's a need to share concise yet relevant details whilst minimising scroll rate. 🤝 Successful partnerships are built on trust and transparency – as a technology studio ourselves, it was great to hear from Julia Smith at Puresport and Lisa Rudenmark at Superco - Shopify Plus Partner on the importance of selecting an agency that can act as a true extension of your team. Being open and honest about your goals, and what is and isn't working is integral to this. 📈 Contextualising data across departments is key – for example, insights collected from product reviews aren't just beneficial for Marketing to understand user sentiment or identify trends. Alex Harley at PERCIVAL Menswear explained how he shares a weekly reviews report with their Design team which is used to improve and refine their products. ✅ Identifying opportunities to optimise technologies that already deliver ROI – Cian Wright at Swap made a great point about evaluating what technologies are already working well to see if there are any additional features that could be leveraged.

I had a great time at Yotpo's Partner Roadshow on Tuesday, learning about their new partner initiatives and exciting product updates. There were also some interesting panel discussions around: – The importance of trust and transparency in an agency/brand partnership, what this looks like and how to choose the right agency – Innovative ways brands are building a sense of community to cultivate customer loyalty – How various departments within an eCom business can leverage product review data to improve the product, enhance the customer journey, and elevate the overall brand experience – Discovering untapped value in your current tech stack and exploring if your top-performing tools can deliver even greater ROI Going into 2025, eCom brands will need to look more closely at whether their current architecture can support continued growth, whether they're entering new markets, diversifying their product range, or both. On a final note, as someone who is relatively new to these events, it was a nice opportunity to make new connections and meet some familiar faces in person 👋 Rachael Knapton, Beth Wells, Cian Wright
