#internationalwomensday a day to raise awareness, break the stigma and empower women in their #mentalhealth, overall health and wellbeing. When women TUNE into their own Biological Rhythms, that are connected to the rhythms of the universe, and do so with freedom from stigma and the support of the system, as a society we will advance. This great report by SunLife sheds light on the state of women's health. 48% of the workforce is made up of women. 33% of women feel their benefits plan did not cover their needs. Part of TrU Wellbeing is empowerment to create systems and working structures that support women to work WITH their biological systems not against them and still BE empowered in purpose and contribution and impact, all doing so from a healthy and well place. What is the result of this empowered stance, greater overall thriving and ability to navigate the challenging times of stress, caregiving and hormones. https://lnkd.in/da2QGE_x

💭 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐈 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬’ 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐲 💭 A few years ago, I encountered a woman whose story forever shaped my path in healthcare. She was a married woman, who came to seek help for a medical issue that required immediate attention. Yet, despite her clear need for care, she couldn’t make any decisions herself. Her access to treatment and, ultimately, her health rested in her husband’s hands. In that moment, I saw the deep, often invisible struggles so many women face—battles that go beyond physical health. The systems and structures that should be there to uplift women instead hinder their autonomy, making them dependent on others for something as personal and crucial as their own well-being. It was heartbreaking, and it ignited a spark in me that has since grown into a full-blown mission: to advocate for health equity for girls and women. This experience made me realize that healthcare isn’t just about treatment; it’s about empowerment. It’s about creating a world where every woman, regardless of her circumstances, can make informed decisions about her own body and her own life. Health equity means choice, freedom, and dignity. I want to see a world where women and girls can access the care they need on their own terms, without barriers, without fear, and without compromise. It’s for them that I am committed to this journey. Because every woman deserves the right to her own health and her own story. #WomensHealth #HealthEquity #Empowerment #GirlsAndWomen #Linkedinoptimazation #Newmediconlinkedin #Healthcare #Healthcareopportunies #Healthcareeducators #Healthcarementors

Last year Sonica Aron (She/Her/Hers) said in an interview to Hindustan Times that “In today’s fast-paced life, self-care seems to take a back seat, particularly among women. Socially conditioned to keep others first- family, work, domestic chores, prioritising self, their own health, and well-being is often overlooked. Eating from leftover children’s plates is something that we have all seen mothers do, without realising the impact of added calories. While the lunchboxes for everyone will be meticulously planned, their own meals will be rushed.” And this is leading to Malnutrition in urban women. Surprised ? Yes - when we think malnutrition we tend to think of poor starving women in villages. And yet the lady executive sitting next to us in the aircraft may be malnourished. Or she may be inspiring and motivating everyone but suffering from stress herself. Juggling deadlines and responsibilities , she may become invisible to herself and her own health. So on this International Day of Women's Health, an appeal to all women - "Your own health (both physical and emotional) is vital for everyone. As the Airline safety instructions tell about putting one's own oxygen mask before helping others , please do not neglect your health while taking care of others. Your health comes first."
