ARTA (Anti-Red Tape Authority), in partnership with government agencies and the private sector, is streamlining the mining industry’s permitting process through a "whole-of-nation" approach. Key efforts include simplifying regulatory processes, reducing bureaucratic red tape, and promoting responsible mining practices. ARTA has developed a template memorandum of agreement, established clear guidelines, and introduced a unified mapping system to manage Indigenous community permits, ancestral domain titles, and land claims. - Hon. Really enjoying all of these stories posted by American Exploration & Mining Association Much like Sophie, I never expected I would ever work in mining. I, like many people, thought mining was all bad, dirty, destructive. But after starting my career in government and then onto consulting, I developed the strongest appreciation for mining out of all the industries I worked with. One thing I noticed is they don’t react to changes in political parties by taking advantage of any regulatory changes, because they are working in an area for decades. They become members of that community. They hold strong on their principals regardless of the party in office, and continue collecting robust baseline datasets, planning for minimizing environmental impacts, and supporting the surrounding communities. If you don’t know much about mining, do some research into all of the things in everyday life and other industries that wouldn’t be possible without mining. Check out videos on mine reclamation and environmental practices mining companies employ. There’s tons to educate yourself with if you take that first step. #IamMining
