Very honored to be recognized as part of the Innovate Finance Standout 45 on the Women in Fintech Powerlist 2023 🌟 This recognition means a lot and caps off a difficult, challenging 2023 for me, personally, but also highlights the collective impact of female leaders in the fintech industry. The journey for female entrepreneurs and leaders in fintech is tough. From access to funding and resources to breaking through gender biases, the road to "success" is riddled with obstacles. Despite hurdles, women continue to defy expectations, innovate, and drive meaningful change in the fintech landscape (and obviously beyond). The Women in Fintech Powerlist sheds light on the remarkable contributions of women who are leading the charge in this dynamic industry. It underscores the importance of diversity and inclusion, not only as a moral imperative but also as a strategic advantage in driving innovation and industry growth. I'm acutely aware of my platform and am committed to advocating for greater representation, empowerment, and opportunities for underrepresented voices in the industry. Together, we can create an ecosystem that fosters creativity, collaboration, and success for all. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the incredible women who have been recognized on this Powerlist (as well as the ones not on the list). In this article, Tipalti's CFO Sarah Spoja shares, "Women made up just 16% of CFOs in 2023. While this figure has almost doubled over the past ten years, the percentages of women at the top remain too low. We must create a more dynamic environment that embraces modernization through technology to make the career more attractive to young talent, and we must continue to mentor our emerging talent through programs that showcase opportunities for their careers to grow across finance and accounting."  

Only 30% of leadership roles in FinTech are held by women, despite the industry’s rapid growth. Three years ago we created the Women CMOs in fintech report highlighting the voices of the many women responsible for brand, customer experience and increasingly growth at fintechs (CMOs over index as women in this male-dominated industry) I believe that marketing leaders are uniquely relevant to the success of fintechs and I was tired of focusing on the anemic number of women founders and CEOs in fintech. This International Women’s Month, I’ve had so many messages from women telling me about their amazing allies and the power of their advocacy. Importantly, the truly effective ones are those who see inclusion as an all-year-round consideration and not a fair-weather topic! Listen to a few of the memorable allies from the pods: Suresh Vaghjiani, CEO of CLOWD9, discussed his responsibilities in driving the company mission and inclusive culture. He puts particular emphasis on diversity of thought, ensuring you are proactive in attracting and retaining a diverse pool of talent from all backgrounds and experiences. Wasim Mushtaq, COO of Centre for Finance, Innovation and Technology (CFIT). Wassim shared his own journey into finance and how the support he received has led to him being incredibly active in supporting others  Richard Davies, CEO of Allica Bank. Richard reflects on his career experiences in different organisations, underlining the importance of both top-down and bottom-up efforts in promoting inclusivity. At the core of all the messages is the notion that even small actions, when done consistently, can add up to meaningful progress - we need the big policies, the forums, the government support, and legislation and, we need everyone to take part.
