From our research (Victorian Women's Trust – About Bloody Time) tabling hundreds of people talking about their experience of menopause one thing above all stands out: extraordinary diversity of experiences. Diversity of attitude to menopause, from deeply fearful to majorly excited about it, diversity of symptoms during perimenopause and after, from crippling to nothing other than periods stopping. From this what strikes me as most important is that we continue to foster open, non-judgemental conversations, and useful and informative where possible. Thanks Yvonne for your thoughtful and positive article.

Only a few years ago, menopause was rarely discussed. Thanks to voices like Oprah Winfrey and Davina McCall, this once-taboo topic is now reaching millions, sparking meaningful conversations and breaking down stigma. While celebrity advocacy plays a powerful role in normalizing menopause, it’s important to remember that every woman’s experience is unique. At sanoMidLife, we support women by providing personalized, evidence-based care and accessible resources, going beyond the surface to address real health needs. With menopause projected to become a $600B industry by 2025, it’s important to keep the focus on trustworthy, expert-driven care over marketing. Women don’t need another product endorsement—they deserve rigorous evidence-based information, genuine support, and a range of clinically validated medical and lifestyle options tailored to them. Let’s appreciate the influence of celebrities while staying mindful of where we seek our health information. Menopause deserves more than hype; it deserves understanding and professional guidance. #MenopauseAwareness #EvidenceBasedCare #WomensHealth #sanoMidLife https://lnkd.in/gBQVEDRU

When my doctor told me I was perimenopausal, I reached out to a number of women. Friends, family, peers – And the most disheartening part about talking to other women going through menopause was their mindset around this stage of life. To empower ourselves to navigate this transition in our lives, we first need to cultivate a positive attitude towards it. The reality is that we live in a world that can make this difficult: According to data from the UN as recently as 2023 and the WHO in 2021, 💔 90% of people hold gender biases, 💔 And more than 50% have ageist attitudes as well. Menopause lies at the intersection of these prejudices, Holding us back from creating a much-needed, holistic system of physical, emotional and social support during menopause. Research shows that we need more than just medication to normalise menopause, and empower menopausal women: 🌸 Well-informed, positive healthcare providers who offer unbiased information and treatment options for physical symptoms, and empower women to make the decisions that are right for them 🌸 Workspaces and environments that are menopause-friendly, and accommodating, 🌸 And a focus on questioning our age- and gender-related biases. There’s no question about it: As a society, we need to become better at talking about menopause and supporting our women going through it, And as women, we must embrace and celebrate – not fight or hide – this important and wonderful transition in our lives. ⛰️ A hill I'll die on: we have a LONG WAY to go when it comes to supporting women's health at work, particularly around perimenopause & menopause. Often we'll see employer benefits focused on fertility and ignore other critical stages of women's health but... 📣 1 in 5 people in the US workforce are in some phase of menopause transition right now. That's a lot of people who potentially aren't getting supported at work because menopause can significantly affect performance, engagement, and overall well-being. It's why I'm so so so proud to partner with Maven Clinic for TOMORROW'S HR Therapy. Stacey Silverman Fine MD, FACOG and Lisa March join me to talk about: ✅ Why we NEED to talk about menopause at work ✅ What symptoms can impact things like wellbeing and performance ✅ What HR teams can do to create a menopause friendly environment AND MORE. You seriously don't want to miss this. Scoop your spot from the comments and get ready to learn from some of the smartest folks I know! #hr #health #menopause

2 years ago I set up a support group for women at Dexcom to educate and raise awareness about the menopause, to share stories and provide a safe space for women to talk about their experience and feel heard. The menopause is a natural part of a woman's journey and for some, it can be a relatively smooth ride. For others, it can be extremely physically and emotionally debilitating. Education on menopause, the symptoms and how it can be treated, is not widely available, and far too many women, including myself, stumble into it, with ignorance. This is to the detriment of our health, our families and our career. Why is this a workplace issue? Because estimates suggest that menopause costs the economy 14 million working days every year, due to women taking time off due to their symptoms. How can businesses help? Educating managers, creating support groups, raising awareness and normalising the conversation around menopause, can all have a significant impact and ensure women feel supported in the workplace. I am proud to be championing this change at Dexcom UKIE and making great progress to normalise the conversation on this subject. On Friday 18 October #Dexcom celebrated #WorldMenopauseDay and we had tremendous support from colleagues, (women and men) across EMEA. #Menopauseintheworkplace #ERG Women's and men's health matters. What more can you do to support your colleagues?

🗓️ World Menopause Day 🗓️ Today marks #WorldMenopauseDay, an important opportunity to raise awareness about menopause and the impact it has on women. This year's theme is Menopause Hormone Therapy - learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eX3d6DJN Despite affecting millions, menopause is still a topic too often avoided in the workplace, leading to misunderstandings and a lack of support for those experiencing it. At Atkinson HR, we believe it’s time to break the silence. Creating open, supportive environments that normalise discussions about menopause is key to fostering inclusive workplaces. Earlier this year we published a blog on how organisations can better support employees during this significant life stage: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eqZdDcQF #MenopauseMatters #InclusiveWorkplaces #EmployeeWellbeing #HRConsulting #MenopauseAwareness #WorkplaceSupport

October is Menopause Awareness Month! 🌸 Menopause can have a significant impact on women in the workplace, affecting mood, energy, and concentration. However, how about we stop talking about the negatives of the menopause and think about all the positives for a moment? Some of the many positive aspects to this phase include: 🔸 Wisdom and self-awareness – Many women gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their needs. 🔸 Confidence – This stage often brings a renewed sense of confidence and clarity in life’s priorities. 🔸 Reclaiming time – With fewer reproductive health worries, many women feel a sense of liberation and the opportunity to focus on new goals and passions. 🔸 Freedom from menstruation – No more periods, cramps, or hormonal birth control concerns. Providing support and resources can help employees navigate this transition, ensuring both their well-being and contribution to the workplace remain strong. October is also the month of Breast Cancer Awareness, where on the 18th of October, the movement 'Wear It Pink!' will take place. 🎗️ Learn more here, to find out what you can do to show support: https://lnkd.in/eagMvQuK 💼 Support your team during all life stages – contact us to learn how we can help or visit: www.valentineoh.co.uk #MenopauseAwarenessMonth #EmployeeWellbeing #WorkplaceHealth #OccupationalHealth #ValentineOH #SupportingWomenAtWork
