Following COP29, FutureCoal maintains that every nation’s sovereign rights must be respected to support both economic development and climate goals. FutureCoal CEO Michelle Manook stated, ”What we are witnessing is an uprise in energy sovereignty. This should come as no surprise. The reality of compromised energy solutions and contingent funding year after year has neither advanced development nor climate goals. The voices of developing and emerging nations are unmuted.” Michelle added, "The path forward is not a transition away from coal. It is abating coal emissions through innovation and technology. As a value chain, we must embrace and promote the Sustainable Coal Stewardship roadmap." Read the full media statement on our website: https://lnkd.in/eamz8fD6 #COP29 #Energy #Coal #EnergySovereignty

"Analysis reveals many big producers increased output of fossil fuels and related emissions in seven years after Paris climate deal". Governments and corporations keep pushing the narrative that we need to phase-out coal, oil and gas while burning more than ever fossil fuels, and they call it "sustainable development". The thing is, we know who they are, and public access to information and databases such as Carbon Majors <https://lnkd.in/dyMwWHpt> are more relevant than ever for debates on responsibility, reparation, and just transition. https://lnkd.in/dNjdAde6

What a big surprise? Who could have expected it? The second in a row Fossil Fuel hosted COP just proves who rules. Which of course is no surprise, since they get $7trillion a year in subsidies (IMF: https://t.ly/Yg0BN) alone, which is over and above windfall profits. And then at COP we hold endless discussions on how to climate finance.... #EndFossilFuelSubsidiesNOW #EndFossilFuels Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative Loss and Damage Collaboration

https://lnkd.in/dxq7f5FS China and the US are the largest methane emitters in the world, but they are also among those that have taken the boldest action. One has methane emission standards and a fee, helping build the Global Methane Pledge, and the other has a comprehensive Methane Action Plan. We hope they continue to signal to the world that methane mitigation is a central part of keeping 1.5C alive, reducing the temperature faster than decarbonization alone.

#fakenetzero #climatedogma #fakecarbonquotas Net zero and carbon quotas are just a financial speculation, a pretext to be able to produce even more fossil fuels behind the dream (nightmare) of , impossible, green energies. They should be stopped since they only serve to make richer (via corruption and public funds) the leaders of the religion of the climate defense who cheat the millions of people who blindly believe in their priests. https://lnkd.in/ekVTZrjy
