Brian Harkin analyses some traditions that may not be ‘fit for purpose’ in today’s hiring market, including an excessive number of interviews, an outdated recruitment process (such as a long-winded or non-specific application form) and multiple screening stages. However, Harkin also notes that switching to a technology-centric approach will also lead to bias from AI evaluation and the lack of a human touch. This 👇 is why I was serious about recruitment processes especially when I worked for consumer-facing brands. The survey quotes 51% of candidates will walk away from a brand after a bad interview/candidate experience. My guess is it's higher. By the way, each candidate has family and friends they influence, too. Why would you risk losing your consumer base when the competition is so fierce? I practice this, and I share the same with my clients and audiences: "EVERY CUSTOMER IS A POTENTIAL CANDIDATE, AND EVERY CANDIDATE IS A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER." #thegardenhr #candidateexperience #recruitmentprocess #consumerloyalty

How well do you think companies are handling the recruitment process these days? In an article by AIHR, author Shani Jay highlights the critical role of the candidate experience in today's unpredictable labour market. With Morgan McKinley's study pointing out that 65% of companies are losing top candidates due to lengthy hiring procedures and PeopleScout's research indicating that only less than 20% of candidates rate their experience as excellent, it's clear there's a gap that needs attention. AIHR suggests that to attract top talent, companies must eliminate poor communication, delays, and poorly structured interviews. Given that the candidate experience mirrors how a company values its people and influences its employer brand, enhancing this aspect seems crucial. #Recruitment #CandidateExperience #TalentAcquisition
