🚨 Important Note: For Anyone Experiencing a Layoff 🚨
Hey Everyone,
I've been meaning to address something that's been weighing heavily on my mind lately, especially with the unfortunate increase in layoffs that many of us, myself included, have experienced. It's about transparency and sharing what I wish someone had told me when I found myself in this situation.
First and foremost, it's okay to feel overwhelmed. Losing a job can hit you like a ton of bricks, especially when you've poured so much of your time and energy into it. Don't underestimate the impact it can have on your emotional well-being. If you need to, take a moment to let it out. Cry, scream into a pillow, whatever helps you release that pent-up emotion. You're grieving a part of your life, a routine, that you've dedicated a significant portion of your time to, whether it's been years or just months.
It's also natural to start questioning yourself. Thoughts like "Did I do something wrong?" or "Wasn't I good enough?" may creep in, but it's crucial to remind yourself that these doubts are not reflective of your worth. It's easy to fall into that self-doubt hole, but you have to snap yourself out of it. You are not alone in this experience, even though it may feel that way at times.
One of the toughest challenges after a layoff is navigating the uncertainty of what comes next. The job market can feel like a wild rollercoaster ride, with twists and turns that leave you dizzy. Trust me, I understand the worry about how to "adult" in this situation. But hang in there. Keep pushing forward, keep networking, keep applying. Things may seem daunting right now, but I'm hopeful that they'll start looking up soon.
Let's support each other through these tough times. Reach out if you need someone to talk to or if you're looking for advice. We're stronger together.
Stay resilient, stay hopeful. ❤️
Gloria
