I was one of the two investigators interviewed for this piece. Alongside Erin M., we discussed how we first discovered OSINT, how we got our jobs at CIR, and what we sort of investigations we now work on. We described our typical work day and what tools we use the most. At the end, we shared what we believe are the most important skills for becoming an investigator and offered tips for people interested in working at CIR. It was so interesting to realise that, despite working on different projects, and being interviewed separately, our experiences and answers were so similar. We both highlighted how the best thing about working at CIR is being part of teams made up of amazing people from diverse backgrounds who care deeply about each project. This always makes me feel big and small at the same time. Big because I have a wealth of unique life experiences I bring to the table, so different from everyone else's. And small because I'm surrounded by so many others like me. People who speak more languages than I can remember, who lived in places I have only heard of, and who have faced situations I didn't even know were possible. When you bring all of these humans together on a team, you create something incredible. I often get asked how to get into OSINT, what skills to focus on, and how to specifically join CIR. Whilst I have answered these questions on my FAQ page, this article offers a fresh perspective from Erin M., which I feel it's incredibly valuable. I hope you enjoy the article!

https://lnkd.in/gSpyNKua The level of nonsense pseudo-legal analysis is stunning. It essentially runs thus, “This special counsel is not valid, because I just don’t think so. And all the laws that provide for the existence of such a person — don’t worry about those. I read them, and I just don’t agree. So the case is over.” Bear in mind, the documents in this case were among the most sensitive and highly classified documents which bear such classifications. Among these documents were several bearing the stamp, “SCI.” “Sensitive compartmented information.” Those could have been plans for the infrastructure required for future wars with enemy nations, plans which required extensive knowledge, expertise, and intelligence. These documents threatened national security. And they were just sitting around, in bathrooms, in hallways, and even on the stage of some kind of ballroom in Mar-a-Lago, with no regard for the sensitivity of the information contained within, retained well beyond the duration of the term of the presidency, and in violation of law. Furthermore, the defendant even lied about returning all of the documents. #classifieddocuments #classified #topsecret #sensitivecompartmentedinformation #sci

DEMOCRACY: IS ABOUT ABOUT DECENCY, SECURITY, AND THE RULE OF LAW The peaceful transfer of power is the bedrock of our constitutional federal republic. As we prepare for a new administration, it's important to recognize that democracy is more than just a word or a concept. It's about decency, security, and the rule of law. As we move forward, let's reach out to one another with respect. Let's focus on what unites us: our shared commitment to right and wrong, humanity, kindness, security, and safety for our families. Together, we can build a better future for all Americans.
