Education system in India….lets bring back the past glory Recent April,24 edition of Gujarati magazine, Prabuddh Jivan (https://lnkd.in/gh22C2fP) is dedicated to education. All articles in this magazine provides details of- 1. Education in pre-British era in Takshasila, Nalanda and few others institutes 2. How it was changed during British rule and how Macaulay made a strong impact on it. 3. How Indian great personalities like Shri Ravindranath Tagore ( Shanti Niketan), Nanabhai Bhat ( Dakshinamurty), Gandhiji ( Nai Talim) and few others made efforts in changing education system to make it relevant for India. What was the thought of these visionaries on education in India- · To educate students in mother tongue. · To educate students means to ‘love students’. · To teach in open atmosphere conducive to students. · Inclusive and practical education. Education which closely relates to life and which helps in getting necessary vocational and life skills. · Gurukul system. · Education focused on holistic development nurturing Intellectual, Moral and Spiritual skills. · Education which put emphasis on physical work and connecting to the nature · To judge any education institution based on ‘how much positive impact created by their students in society’. · To give full respect to teachers. · To provide freedom to teachers to design curriculum which is useful to their students · To encourage students to study literatures It seems all above parameters are more relevant today and need to be implemented if we really want our next generation to lead a good quality life. To end with a quote from Dr. Radhakrishna- One single moment being wasted by a teacher can adversely affect the whole future of children. In this magazine, ‘history of education’ article is in English. Rest all are in Gujarati This April edition is must for all people connected with education segment.

When does the education system stop serving students and start serving itself? The Balochistan Students Organisation (BSO-Pajjar) has voiced serious concerns about the collapse of the education system in the province, turning what should be a pathway to progress into a profit-driven machine. According to BSO Chairman Balaach Qadir Baloch, widespread corruption, poor management, and nepotism have brought the system to its knees. Key issues include: Unpaid salaries at universities, leading to staff protests. Excessive fee hikes, making higher education less accessible to students. Delays in opening new universities like Rakhshan and Naseerabad, leaving vast regions deprived of educational opportunities. Institutions like Kohlu Girls College that have been in limbo since 2007, waiting for faculty appointments to begin classes. In addition to the education crisis, the BSO Central Committee criticized the government’s control over free speech, citing restrictions on political activists, surveillance of teachers, and limitations on public expression through press conferences and seminars. If we don’t take urgent action, are we allowing education to lose its true purpose? #EducationCrisis #Balochistan #EducationForAll #StudentRights #HigherEducation #Leadership #FreedomOfSpeech

🗳️ Attention Citizens of India, especially Tamil Nadu! 🇮🇳 As we gear up to cast our votes in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, let's take a moment to reflect on the significance of our polling booths, primarily located in schools, with 90% of them being government-run institutions. For those visiting government schools to cast their vote, whether it's a yearly ritual or a first-time experience, it's an opportunity to witness the improvements that have taken place within these institutions. However, in our fast-paced world, the need for further development in government schools is paramount. From infrastructure enhancements to ensuring quality learning environments and improved sanitation facilities, there's much to be done. As responsible citizens, let's not only observe these needs but also actively contribute to the development of a better future. Remember, the leaders of tomorrow may emerge from these very schools, and one day, you may cast your vote for them. Be a kingmaker in shaping the destiny of our nation! Many of us travel far and wide, from foreign countries to other states and districts within Tamil Nadu, to exercise our right to vote. Similarly, let's actively participate in the development of our society and future generations through Namma School Namma Ooru Palli. Namma School Namma Ooru Palli Together, let's strive for progress and prosperity for all.
