The 1 minute description about Passion
Throughout the years I've finally came to the conclusion that as long as there's passion it will be such a joyful journey. As my father once told me: "I don't care which career of professional path you take as long as you enjoy it" and also "Never focus on how much you can make, but how much you will learn from it". At first glance I didn't understand the deep meaning of these words until I started to notice how people gets frustrated because of not following those principles.
Then I realized how wise those simple words were, as simple as they look they're not easy to be followed. We get immersed into a day to day routine where bills have to be payed and we seem to be OK as long as we have a decent life. So, why more than 40% are not happy at work? Why so many people complain about what they couldn't achieve? Why is out there so many "poor performers"? And even more essentially, how can we fix that?
The first thing we have to question ourselves is " What would I do for free and still could get payed?" This is the 1 million dollar answer that once answered and implemented there would only be happy-high performers. This is precisely passion, enjoying by doing. Not caring about time, about anything else but keep doing it.
Life is short, we shouldn't be wasting our precious time with activities that don't add value to our true purpose of life, this is why we should follow our guts when we feel good or bad about certain roles at work.
A good hint for discovering what we are passionate about that helped me find my passion is to write down what I enjoy and what I don't. What I'm good at and what I'm not. Then focus on what I'm good at and enjoy. The rest is merely keep developing those skills and enjoying the ride.
