10 Years of Indiandribble

10 Years of Indiandribble

This morning I woke up way too early and still didn’t have anything to say for our 10th anniversary...

I decided this was the day to start running again, after 5 months of running sabbatical. I broke my foot remember?

The weather was fresh so I put on my shoes and hit it off.

Only a few hundred meters further, something snapped in my head.

I thought about running 3, maybe 5k to get things going but my feet seem to run automatically… I am quickly at my regular pace, cross the park when at the guingette of Jette, Fady Elabed passes me by with feet spinning like a treadmill.  He says hi and disappears in the woods. That's unusual...

I continue my journey in the direction of Ganshoren, through the swamp where I see Katja De Muynck climbing a rock mountain I have never seen before.  She waves and gives me a thumbs up. Is that Zwangere Guy climbing with her?

Next up the Basilica of Koekelberg, I must be close to 3-4k now, this goes smooth.  In front of the Basilica Loriene Lemmens is making a gigantic mussel sculpture that reveals a miniature Manneken Pis inside.

This is weird. Is this what they call a runners high?

I close my eyes and am catapulted to the Heysel Stadium.  The Beyoncé concert is on, Beyoncé is singing a lullaby for Nona Broekaert , Anaïs Lombi is smiling outside the stadium and telling me to keep going.

I turn around, July Kempeneer is cruising with the Polestar Ket on Bockstael, followed by our new electric van.  Thibault Hanoteau is driving the van that has a long cable attached to it that goes all the way down the Avenue Bockstael. I follow it and end up at our warehouse in the Moorsledestraat in Laken where it is still plugged in, Maxim Dal Prete is trying to disconnect it, but I tell him not to do that or our van will stop driving.

I jump over the Byrrh building straight into the parc of tour&taxis, Brendan Kerremans is spinning records at Parckfarm, and Bénédicte Staels is sitting on @Chahine El Mansouri's shoulders waving to the crowd.

Chahine’s dance moves make me dizzy and I fall into the new pond of the Gare Maritime.

I dive underwater and make my way up again in the Canal in Molenbeek close to Mima. Charlotte Woensdregt helps me out of the water, she’s wearing a Recupel t-shirt

This really is a strange day.

Roel Verhavert is sipping negroni’s a the local buvette and tells me to join him, but my feet are stuck, they start moving me in the direction of Anderlecht.

At the Abattoir Stefanie Cornut is sitting on a giant bakfiets filled with water - it’s a swimming pool - Mauranne Broekaert is diving in the pool, she tells me the speakers for the new office are in there somewhere.

Margo Otike is on her cowboy, the Shinnoki Bar Cart attached to it like a trailer, she waves to me.  I think I should follow her… She is speeding, I’m running like mad - I must be at 25 - 30 no 35 km an hour now.

I’m in heaven!

In no time we’re in Saint Gilles.  The terraces are filled with people sipping cappuccinos with Alpro.  Laurent Nyssen raises his Duvel glass to me, when I come closer, I can see there is a mini Steven De Beukeleer in his glass, he’s jumping up and down and asking to let him out.

I leave them be and head for the Place Brugmann, Michiel de Vreede is there.  He’s in an art gallery, Quinten Berghman is explaining to the visitors that he has created a gateway to our office with AI.  David Adeyemo is smiling, jumps into a hole in the ground and disappears.

I jump in as well, and now I’m here.

That’s a pretty crazy story.

A story, just as amazing as a lot of the clients, people and projects we’ve encountered in the last 10 years.

A story with plenty of content, so crazy nobody would believe it if we told them.

A story that includes all of you who are reading this and who are writing Indiandribble history together with us.

Some of the readers here deserve a special thank you…

These first 10 years started with Steven De Beukeleer - my associate - thank you for the journey so far. We’ve spent more time together in the office than with our significant others and it’s been a pleasure, on to the next 10 years!

Four years ago, Indiandribble took a giant step thanks to our MD Roel.  Thank you Roel Verhavert and sit tight for the next 10 years!

Off course a giant thank you to all the indiandribblers that were also featured in my story : Fady Elabed , Katja De Muynck , Loriene Lemmens , Nona Broekaert , Anaïs Lombi , July Kempeneer , Thibault Hanoteau , Maxim Dal Prete , Brendan Kerremans , Bénédicte Staels , @Chahine El Mansouri, Charlotte Woensdregt , Stefanie Cornut , Mauranne Broekaert , Margo Otike , Laurent Nyssen , Michiel de Vreede , Quinten Berghman , David Adeyemo

and all the past indiandribblers that helped to bring us where we are today.

I am very proud!

Bernard
