I became a mother 17 years ago...
- Before that, I couldn't understand why my mom was never tired of giving...
- I couldn't understand how she never got tired or even sick...
- I couldn't understand how she was able to wear so many hats just in one day...
- I couldn't understand how she had the energy to wake up first and sleep last without even complaining about it...
- I couldn't understand how she could love the 4 of us equally...
I simply couldn't understand...
All I knew is "I had no limits to the way I loved her..."
I thought it was a mission impossible, and I was not quite sure if I could do it...
17 years ago, the role was passed to me...
- I fell in love with giving, and I had so much more to give day in, day out...
- I got sick and I got tired, but knowing that I was the source of support for my girls made me invincible...
- I wore so many hats and I realised I can wear more... I was always in a position where I wanted to be a great role model for my girls... and it gave me joy...
- My energy was flowing... It was recharged with every sunrise... my reason for being outweighed my state of mind...
- I gave life to 3 girls... the minute I met each one of them, my love was spread equally... it was magical...
Now, after 17 years, all I could say:
- I am grateful to a mother who like a candle, burnt herself out to light our way...
- I am grateful for a role model who never failed to go out of her way and walk the extra mile just to make sure we live a decent life...
- I am grateful for a human being who is still giving even at an older age just to make sure we are happy...
After 17 years, I feel proud...
- I am proud to have built a strong friendship with my daughters...
- I am proud to see the strong, independent, smart, resilient, happy, ambitious, and caring girls who can become great mothers one day if they choose to...
- I am proud to have allowed them to be the persons they want to be, each one with her talents and personality...
- I wish every mother out there an amazing day... a day to reflect on what she gained and the added value she shared with the world...
- I look up to the sky and send all the love in this world to those mothers who left us and became guardian angels to their families here on earth...
- I look around and send hope to those who lost a child and I wrap them with my care... and to those who couldn't be but wished to be mothers, I say: everything happens for the good reasons... the mother in you can share her love and care with many people that need it...
- I also stop for a second and apologise for those who did not have a fair share... some mothers failed in the journey... not because they did not want to... but because they did not know better... they became the victims of victims... it is up to you to change the story, and become a hero of a victim...
Today, as I celebrate being a mother, I would also want to thank my daughters Sharleez, Lindzy and Zoey for adding so much value to my life and making me one of the happiest mothers alive...
Thank you for being there for me when I need it.
Thank you for being the mother sometimes...
I hope you will have the honour one day to become a mother because only then you will understand how much you mean to me...
I LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK, AND THANK YOU ONE MORE TIME FOR GIVING ME THE HONOR TO BE A MOTHER…
