AICTE Launches ATAL Academy for Faculty Development
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has taken a visionary step towards revolutionizing the higher education system in India with the launch of the ATAL (AICTE Training and Learning) Academy Faculty Development Programme 2023–24. This initiative aligns with the National Education Policy 2020 and aims to empower educators to become effective teachers, researchers, innovators, and leaders in their respective fields.
AICTE – Faculty Development Programmes
ATAL Academy supports improving the skills and expertise of faculty members of AICTE authorized Institutions, Research Scholars, PG Scholars, Participants from the Government, Industry, and employees of host institutions through training and workshops.
Under the ATAL Academy, faculty members will have access to high-quality Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) covering both technical and non-technical domains. AICTE-approved institutions can conduct offline FDPs in various fields, including Engineering, Management, Computer Application, Arts and Crafts, Life Skill Development, Indian Knowledge System, Universal Human Values, and more. These programs will encompass domain knowledge, industry connect, teaching skills, research abilities, life skills, community well-being, and career development.
By providing the necessary tools and resources, this transformative initiative seeks to foster an educational ecosystem that encourages growth, collaboration, and innovation. As educators are equipped with the essential competencies, they will be better prepared to guide and nurture the next generation of learners, shaping a brighter future for India's education landscape.

Target Audience and Mode of Teaching
The ATAL faculty program mainly focuses on Assistant Professors/Associate Professors/Senior Assistant Professors/Ph.D. scholars/PG students/Directors/Principals/Deans/HoDs/BoG/GC/BoS/AC members, etc. The mode of teaching is mainly offline for both theory and practical/labs/experiential learning.
