Alamos Gold’s Mulatos Operation Receives the Distinctive Socially Responsible Award
For the sixteenth consecutive year, Minas de Oro Nacional subsidiary of Alamos Gold), was honoured with the Socially Responsible Company Award from the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) and the Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility (AliaRSE). The Award recognizes leading companies in their voluntary and public commitment to contribute social value to their operations.
Alamos Gold’s Community Relations team, Dulce Bernal and Leopoldo Rascón, accepted the Award in Mexico City.
The evaluation process is based on a measurement of a series of indicators in environmental, social and governance areas. Companies are awarded for integrating a sustainable vision through social responsibility into their business strategies.
Minas de Oro Nacional’s sustainability program is having an impact to reduce GHG emissions at our Mulatos District operations, to maintain reliable water infrastructure, provide public lighting, and to deploy technologies to reduce energy consumption.
We also have a strategy to support local communities with student scholarships and we continue to invest in a medical practice in the Town of Matarachi for local residents. For our employees, we implement policies to promote safety, health and well-being, as well as inclusion in the workplace.
