"All Journeys Have Secret Destinations Of Which The Traveler Is Unaware"

"All Journeys Have Secret Destinations Of Which The Traveler Is Unaware" - Martin Buber: Do you know who I am? This playful question, often on my lips, draws curious glances and chuckles. I ask in jest, but behind this question lies a deeper inquiry into identity.

While I've held titles like in my life, like financial advisor, university instructor, husband, and father, and so many more, these roles are not my core. They represent just chapters of a journey, but they're not the destination.

Consider water. In stillness, it lacks dynamism. When flowing, it’s a force of nature, reshaping landscapes and nurturing life. Similarly, when we fixate on our labels, we risk becoming stagnant. But by surrendering to life's ebb and flow, we morph into verbs, ever - evolving and filled with potential.

The trap is letting our past achievements and failures overshadow our present journey. We risk becoming nouns, static and defined. Yet, by seeing life as an uncharted river of experiences, we become verbs - active, evolving, and always moving forward.

Life is a mosaic of moments, experienced moment by moment, leading us down mysterious paths. We're more than the sum of these moments. We wield the power to interpret, evolve, and determine our trajectory into our next moments. Our history sets the foundation, but it shouldn't ever anchor us into the past.

I hope you remember this: Life isn't about defining yourself by past deeds, but by present actions and future aspirations. Your past is merely a prologue to an unfolding story, that is you.

Now, a challenge for you: How will you embody the essence of a verb today? How will you embrace the ongoing journey, uncovering those secret destinations along the way?
