Introduction: 77 year old male patient was in a couple of weeks ago to repair an upper central tooth that failed 9 years after being restored in a maxillary rehab. George was 68 when I restored his upper teeth and 7 years later (2 years ago) we restored his lowers. His was biting hard candy and broke his central and the warranty as well. His teeth have held up well over the years with only 3 needing to be redone or repaired.

Serious wear and tear on 68 year old teeth. Causes are many - take your pick.

I always do the centrals first to get the midlines right and go back from there.

Chart of first work.

These pictures are from 2013 and his hygiene is less than stellar.

2013 and we are about to restore the lower teeth.

Palatal surfaces of upper teeth after 7 years of these lower stubs grinding on composite - not much wear and tear actually. Amazes me how well composite wears in these cases most of the time.

I don't always use a 90N clamp for lowers since I don't need to hide my margins subgingival like I do for upper anteriors.

Just grind them till they all hit --- Occlusion 100.

Chart of his dental work over the last 9 years.

Right central fractured and some of his original tooth was in the restoration he brought in, so the tooth failed and it was not simply the restoration falling out.

90N and rubber dam.

Premier cure thru matrix and AllBond 2 and Z250 A2 composite.

His 9 year old restorations have a little staining on the surfaces making his 10 minute old restoration look a little whiter.

9 years and counting!!

Conclusion: Found these in my picture trove of over 20,000 dental pictures!! Anyone who takes this many pictures of teeth needs drugs or psychiatric counselling or both!! Hope you find this case interesting.
