Armed With Reason: The Podcast - Episode 30: The present and future of hospital-based violence intervention programs

On the November 13th episode of Armed With Reason: The Podcast, the HAVI’s policy director, Kyle Fischer, MD, MPH, discussed recent advances in hospital-based violence intervention, the positive influence of increased funding for HVIPs and other community violence intervention (CVI) initiatives over the last few years, and why addressing gun violence through a public health approach is not just a bipartisan way — but a non-partisan way — to save lives and heal communities disproportionately impacted by violence.

“We can help folks that have been affected by community violence using health-based approaches and avoid some of these Second Amendment disagreements… this is an area where we are finding common ground and inviting communities across the country to join us and help heal our communities.”
