The art of work part 4

The art of work part 4

In the previous part of this chapter, we discussed the basic attitude one should have when it comes to working; in this section, we will discuss about getting inspiration.

Continuing with the hand water pump we discussed in the previous part, just the flow of water is just a matter of distance, in the same way the pleasant taste of success in life is just beyond the hill. The story of the pump is that of life and of the open entrepreneurship; it has nothing to do with age or education, neither with you being black or white, man or woman, thin of fat, introvert or extravert, catholic, Jew, protestant or any other religion. It is simply your free person’s right to work as long as you want, with as much enthusiasm as you can, with as much strength as you want, in order to obtain from life what you really desire. On you way to the top, remember the story of the pump; if you sluggishly do it, you will pump forever and never will you have the water you want. Start pumping with all your strength from the beginning; maintain the effort until the water starts flowing, and then you will have some results. Once the water starts flowing, maintain a constant pressure, then a time shall come where you will have all you want instead of lusting after what you already possess.

One last thing, which may or not surprise you, there are no lazy people. Either they are sick or they simply lack inspiration. A sick person should encounter a specialist in modern or traditional medicine. A person lacking inspiration should do several things namely, read books, listen to motivational speakers, and get in touch with people who will inspire them. For this last case, Bob RICHARDS talks about associated inspiration. He points out the fact that Olympic Games generally produce great results because; the athletes are overwhelmed with the overall fever of greatness. When a young athlete sees other athletes from around the world constantly breaking his record, they feel inspired to win the best.

ichards notices that the companionship of champions produces champions’ performances. Of course, in order to obtain champions’ performances, one must believe they are able to achieve it. Unfortunately, there are still many people who are still struggling with low self-esteem; they therefore do not totally endeavor in their work or profession. They are afraid to be nonentities after having given their best, to miss the target. They reason like this: if they do not fully commit, they already have an excuse if they ever fail. In their spirit, they are not failures, since they did not really try something. They shrug pretending they do not care.

IIf you detect in yourself a low self-esteem, which is preventing from achieving what you would like to, go back to the first two chapters of this series, put into practice, all the recommendations thereof until you see yourself being able to succeed; for every achievement starts with a high and sound opinion of oneself. To round up, you have to know that as the artisan of your success, you possess a marvelous tool: you are subconscious. It is important you get to understand the power of this part of your being. Let us imagine that you are an employer, what kind of employees would you be looking for? If you were to choose them out of a catalog, what criteria will you be going for? Would you like them to be trustworthy? Completely honest? Assiduous to work? Ready to follow your instructions? Loving and kind? Intelligent and brilliant? Ready to work for their entire for their salary? This will be the ideal employee, right. Had you had such an employee, how will you be treating them? The answer to this question is of paramount importance, since the performance of this ideal worker depends only on how you treat them.

If you are caring and polite, they will work well and for a long time. If you become coarse and thoughtless, they will become insubordinate. Compliment them, tell them how intelligent they are, and they will brilliantly carry out their job. Insult and despise them and they will rebel and ruin all your efforts. Tell them that you appreciate and respect them, and they will stay up late in the night to solve your problems. Bother and frustrate them and, they will not even tell you what time it is if you ever ask them.

Now, if such a person comes and knocks at your door looking for a job, would you hire them? I know that was a stupid question. Once hired, how will you treat them? We already know the answer to this question. Therefore, it is in your best interest to be kind and generous with this super employee. As of now, it is highly likely that you are abusing this ideal employee; I say this considering the poverty and misery that sadden millions of lives around the world which is a proof that, a lot of people are mistreating this wonderful employee called: subconscious. This awesome servant will always act as the ideal employee we just discussed. In the next and final part of this chapter, we will discuss about how to unleash the power of this marvelous tool.
