BCG’s Annual Sustainability Report

Today’s environment of geopolitical and economic uncertainty has presented BCG with increasing opportunities to lead with integrity and live up to our stated purpose of “unlocking the potential of those who advance the world.”  

Our Annual Sustainability Report reflects these efforts, highlighting how we’ve responded to external and internal challenges and pushed ourselves to drive positive societal and planetary impact. 

Here are some examples of how we’ve expanded our impact:

BCG’s Sustainability Approach

Our sustainability approach is based on four key pillars: driving social impact, protecting our planet, empowering our people, and promoting responsible business practices.

Driving Social Impact. BCG works to find innovative solutions to pressing societal issues, and then we put those solutions into action. We help our clients use their core business assets and operations to drive positive societal impact in ways that enhance their sustainable competitive advantage. We do so by focusing on six key areas:

• Global health
• Education
• Diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Climate risk, adaptation, and resilience
• Humanitarian response

We also bring the breadth and depth of our expertise to the work of addressing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, helping organizations develop and focus their social impact agendas and partnering with them to build their capabilities and maximize their impact and effectiveness.

Protecting Our Planet. BCG partners with businesses and governments to help them transform and build a more sustainable and resilient world. We are committed to shaping the global agenda through our climate partnerships and to leading by example by making progress on our own transformation, which includes a commitment to reach net zero climate impact by 2030.

Empowering Our People. By unlocking the power that comes from increased diversity, equity, and inclusion at BCG, we hope to create an environment that allows our people to thrive personally and professionally. Diverse teams that drive inclusive and equitable work practices strengthen our organization, allowing us to better support our clients and to advance justice, dignity, and belonging.
