Behind the Curtain: Why I Refuse to Conform—and How This Philosophy Shapes the Work We Do Together

To each and every one of my amazing subscribers ... I am grateful for you!

This week, I wrote something bold on LinkedIn, but I wanted to share with you the deeper, unfiltered version—the version that goes beyond what I’d ever post publicly. This is for you, my inner circle because the work we’re doing together deserves clarity and honesty. (minus fluff or any other shinny object)

Let’s dive in.

The other morning, I sat down with a familiar sense of determination: Create something meaningful. Serve with insight. Help someone out there step out of their turmoil and into the life they dream of.

But as my fingers hovered over the keyboard, something unexpected happened.

I caught myself falling into the trap.

The one we’ve all been sold as professionals: Narrow your focus! Create the perfect hook! Speak to the one person your content is “designed for!”

And honestly? It felt gross.

The Problem with Playing by Their Rules

The noise is deafening out there, isn’t it? Everyone shouting:

  • “This is the ONE thing that will fix everything!”
  • “Follow my framework, and your life will change overnight!”
  • “Buy this course, and I’ll guarantee your success!”

It’s the marketing playbook we’ve been told to follow, and yet...it misses the point entirely.

Transformation isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. You can’t “hook” someone into real change. That takes depth. Conversations. A willingness to sit with the uncomfortable truths that no shiny marketing promise can deliver.

Here’s the truth: the work I do with you is bigger than any headline, any funnel, or any formula. And honestly? It can’t be marketed in three easy steps.

The Depth of Our Work Together

Let’s get real: I don’t know the exact reasons anxiety or overwhelm show up in your life. I don’t know the pain points you’re carrying right now or how deep your barriers run.

What I do know is this: transformation doesn’t happen by slapping a motivational quote over your struggles.

It happens when you:

  • Break everything down to its core.
  • Look at the hidden spaces you’ve been avoiding.
  • Reframe and rebuild something that’s authentically yours.

This is why I use evidence-based practices rooted in behavioral psychology. It’s not always glamorous, but it’s real. It’s tedious. It’s uncomfortable. And it’s transformative.

What This Means for You as a Subscriber

You’re here because you want something more than shallow advice. You’re looking for actionable tools, strategies that work, and support that doesn’t come with empty promises.

Here’s what I want you to know:

  • I see you. Whether you’re a professional looking to elevate your practice or someone trying to find clarity in your personal life, this space is built for you.
  • I’ll walk with you. I’m not here to throw a framework at you and wish you luck. We’ll go deep, step by step, and build something lasting.
  • I value your trust. That’s why I refuse to conform to cookie-cutter strategies. The work we do together is as unique as you are.

A Challenge for You as a Professional

If you’re reading this as someone who serves others—whether in coaching, mental health, or another space—I want to ask you something:

Why are we still trying to fit into the shallow, shiny boxes the marketing world hands us?

The people we serve deserve more. They deserve depth, honesty, and professionals who are willing to show up as their raw, real, imperfect selves.

So, let’s stop playing small. Let’s stop selling ourselves short with strategies that strip us of our authenticity.

The world needs what you bring to the table—your depth, your insight, your unique ability to create change.

You’re Here for a Reason

You’re part of this community because you believe in more. You believe in connection, transformation, and creating impact beyond the surface level.

Let’s keep doing that.

If this resonates with you, reply to this email and let me know:

  • What’s one way you’ve felt pressured to conform in your work or personal life?
  • How can I support you in staying true to who you are?

I’m here for the conversations that matter—the ones that go deeper than the noise.

With gratitude and purpose,

Tricia
