  Psalm 70

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, * to bring to remembrance.

1  Make haste, a O God, to deliver me;

Make haste † to help me, O Lord.

2  Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul:

Let them be turned backward, and b put to confusion, b that desire my hurt.

3  Let them c be turned back for a reward of their shame

That say, Aha, aha.

4  Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee:

And let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.

5  But I am poor and needy: d make haste unto me, O God:

Thou art my help and my deliverer;

O Lord, make no tarrying.1

Author

All of The authors of the Psalms are unknown, we know that Moses wrote (1), David (73), Solomon (2), the sons of Korah (11, including one to which the name of Heman is also attached), Asaph (12), and Ethan (1) it is possible that others also wrote some of the Psalms, as well!!!!

The Author of Ps 70 is David, and it is a song of remembrance of salvation.

Date

The date of the Psalms covers from the Exodus, roughly 1300 BC through the return of the exiles, 586ish some 800 years.

The Date of Ps 70 is unknown other than it had to be during the time of David’s reign as he is writing the Chief Musician.

History

The purpose of Psalms 70, is for all to receive salvation quickly, John 3:09-18, John 3:36, Acts 16:31, Rom 10:9-10, and that Satan is vanquished forever, Eternally Separated Ps 70:2-3 , Rev 19:20-21, Rev 20:11-15, Rev 21:8, Rev 22:15!!!!

Exegesis / Hermeneutical

1. Salvation Ps 70:1-5 :

Application

if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and b believe in your heart that c God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, 1 resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, 2 resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “a Whoever believes in Him will not be 1 Put to shame.” 12 For a there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is b Lord of c all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; 13 for “a Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” New American Standard Bible (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 2020), Ro 10:9–13.

Conclusion
