📰 This week’s Boatbuilding News!📰

🤩 Luxury yacht manufacturer, Gulf Craft debuted two new models at the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show, the Majesty 72 and Silvercraft 32 WA (WalkAround).

The latest model in the Majesty Yachts range, the Majesty 72 (21.99m) is said to bridge the gap between the Majesty 62 and the Majesty 100 with larger exterior entertainment areas, an optional hydraulic swim platform and comfortable crew quarters.

The latest collaboration between Majesty Yachts and Netherlands-based Phathom Studio, Gulf Craft says the interiors have been crafted with luxury, practicality, comfort and technology in mind.

Powered by a Twin MAN V8-1200 engine, the Majesty 72 is capable of achieving a top speed of up to 30 knots and, with a draft of 1.23m, is able to navigate shallower waters.

Designed for family days out, weekends afloat or fishing trips, the Silvercraft 32 WA measures 9.85m and has a cabin that includes an open area forward that converts into a queen-size berth, a well-equipped galley, and a generously sized en-suite.

With an option of twin 300hp or 400hp outboard engines, the Silvercraft 32 WA can reach speeds up to 42 knots. At a shallow draft of 0.59m, she is said to provide a stable ride and ease of manoeuvrability in all seasons or varied weather conditions.

“Across our 40 years, we have built a strong foothold both locally and internationally by providing our customers with a wide array of vessels. Whilst our superyachts continue to intrigue customers around the world – especially with the Majesty 160 and Majesty 111 – which were both announced this year, we have also had a terrific response to our leisure line range of vessels locally and in the region. As a result of this demand, we have decided to expand our offering with the introduction of two new models to provide our customers with more choice to find the perfect boat or yacht to suit their needs.”

says Gulf Craft’s chairman, Mohamed Hussein Alshaali.

🇹🇷 Yacht builder VisionF Yachts, Istanbul, has added an entry model to its collection of motor catamarans.

The new 18 metre VisionF 60 will be built of GRP. The maximum beam of 10 metres remains constant from bow to stern, which translates into huge living spaces on main deck and fly deck. The design draft is a shallow 0.65 metres fully loaded.

The standard version will feature two 360hp Volvo Penta IPS 600 diesel engines. Solar panels can be added to the deckhouse roof to provide clean renewable energy for some of the hotel loads. Battery banks for storing electrical energy come with an integrated battery management system.

Construction of the first VisionF 60 is due to begin in early 2023 with delivery available in spring 2024.

“Clients can choose between having the galley on main deck or in one of the hulls, and from multiple accommodation options, including four or three double cabins (including a spacious master stateroom) with two doubles and a kid’s cabin, or a guest cabin can be used a gym. A crew cabin with bathroom can be located in the stern or the bow.”

says VisionF Yachts founder Coskun Bayraktar.

🇮🇹 The construction of the Sanlorenzo 72 Steel superyacht has officially commenced.

The Italian luxury shipbuilder laid the keel of its largest project to date during a private ceremony with the owner paying witness.

The 72-metre superyacht will claim the plinth as Sanlorenzo’s flagship, and is being constructed to a design by Zuccon International Project. As her name attests, the 72 Steel will be constructed with a steel hull and she’ll span five decks with a total volume of 1,850 GT.

Francesco Paszkpowski Design was enlisted to curate her interior spaces, and the studio has conceived the project “designed at 360 degrees around the concept of livability on board”. The 72 Steel superyacht will connect the exterior and interior spaces seamlessly, thanks to an extensive use of glass throughout. Her guest and crew accommodations are still unknown, but Sanlorenzo has teased an exclusive owner’s decks.

The 72 Steel superyacht will be one of the yachts in the Sanlorenzo fleet to be equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system. According to the yard, “This system embodies the best green technology on the market today and represents a concentration of innovations that will make it possible to significantly reduce emissions in the atmosphere and at sea while maintaining a high level of comfort on board and by streamlining the spaces dedicated to the engine area in favour of the internal volumes for owners and guests.”

Edmiston, the firm that brokered this sale, will act as project manager throughout her construction. The 72 Steel superyacht is scheduled for delivery in 2025.
