Break The Fast Right: A Tip for Better Gut

Break The Fast Right

A Simple Tip to Better Your Gut

You have probably heard the saying that "breakfast is the most important meal of the day".

This does not mean that you need to eat as soon as you wake up or that the early morning is necessarily the most important time of the day. 'Breakfast' refers to the first meal you have in the day and as the name suggests, that breaks the overnight fasting period and jumpstarts your metabolism.

Even if you eat your first meal later in the day, make sure to break the fast with a complete meal that makes your gut happy.

To be able to do this, follow these tips:

  • Incorporate probiotic-rich foods (things like yogurt, sauerkraut, cottage cheese, pickles, sourdough bread, or kombucha).
  • Incorporate healthy fats (like nuts, avocado, or olive oil).
  • Eat a protein-filled meal (to start up your system without glucose spikes).
  • Add fiber-filled carbohydrates (things such as fruits, veggies, oats, and whole grains are great options).

Not for anything is the gut called your second brain. A healthy, happy gut will make you a happier person. Try it!
