When we experience fear, doubt and anxiety, we apply a set of filters to our perception that radically distorts our impression of what’s happening. Fear narrows our field of vision. We unintentionally dismiss huge quantities of information that could be very useful in helping us to resolve or improve our circumstances. The less we perceive, the bigger the problem appears to be.
Turning down the fear response is the best way to engage our creativity and regain a clearer sense of perspective. That’s why it’s so helpful to set our expectations at the start of the day. It’s a fabulous habit to cultivate and will enable you to assert greater control over how you react to the circumstances you meet. Calmly and gently telling yourself as you wake that it’s going to be a spectacularly successful day imparts a potent set of positive expectations to your perception. You’ll notice the beneficial, empowering elements that you might otherwise have missed. And, as you know, one good thing leads to another. You’ll feel more confident and adopt a more capable approach to dealing with your tasks. It’s a natural way for you engage your mind’s latent creativity and feel fully competent to handle whatever comes your way. Since everything is connected, your positive expectations will spill over into your health, wellbeing and happiness.
Once you appreciate how much we’re influenced by the suggestions we receive, you can take charge of the kind of messages you’re willing to accept. You’ll be free to initiate a programme of positive suggestions that will provide a magnificent foundation for every moment of your life. Make this a normal part of every day and prepare to be very pleasantly surprised by the results you create in every area of your existence.
