Can You Drink Alcohol And Still Lose Weight?
Most people won't want to hear this, but if your goal is to lose fat, look great and live a long time, heavy alcohol use is going to have to stop or, at the very least, be reduced. Based on the newest research, anything over two drinks per week will negatively impact your health.
Why? Alcohol,
Your liver helps process nutrients and helps break down fat into energy. It's an ASSET for fat loss. While maintaining a calorie deficit, exercising consistently, and having good eating habits is key to a healthy body and life, your body won't be able to break down fat. If you're doing everything else right, but your liver is preoccupied with filtering the excessive booze from the night before, you're spinning on a hamster wheel, which can feel frustrating.
You're also likely to overeat while drinking and the following days because of the impact on the frontal lobe of the brain (your decision maker).
Okay, So When Can You Drink Alcohol?
You can still have incredible results while enjoying a drink or two every week.
I recommend you save the alcohol and enjoy it for when you're celebrating something important (birthdays, weddings, milestones) and keep your intake low otherwise!
Just because you had a long day or week does not mean you should use alcohol for comfort.
