Can't Let Recruiters/HR Get In Your Way When Unemployed

It's a recruiters and HR's job to get in your way when you're applying for jobs. You can't let them, especially when you're unemployed.

It's not a recruiter's nor an HR department's job to make hiring decisions. It's not their job to help you find a job, or give you any advantage in the hiring process.

Here's what a recruiter's jobs and HR department's job is, as part of the hiring process:

1. Collect as many resumes (including ones that are networked) into the employer's resume screening database (Applicant Tracking System).
2. Recommend a small number of candidates for interviews ... the worst quality interviews the employer offers, with the worst odds of you succeeding to land a job.
3. Keep the company compliant with hiring laws.
4. Be nice and polite to candidates.
5. Act as a gatekeeper to keep candidates away from hiring managers ... in other words, Get in your way.

How could I know this? I've been an recruiter for over 20 years.
