The Computational Design: NEXT 14, a two-day interactive online conference showcasing new and emerging technologies in art, architecture, design, and manufacturing, was held on Saturday and Sunday, August 12 – 13, 2023. CD NEXT 14 was organized by ParametricArchitecture (PA) and DesignMorphine (DM) and attracted attendees worldwide.

Wildfires erupted in Hawaii on August 8, primarily on the island of Maui. The death toll from the Lahaina fire is the strongest for a wildfire in the United States since the Cloquet fire in 1918. According to Pacific Disaster Center, damage assessments related to the Lahaina Fire resulted in an estimated total of 2,719 structures exposed, 2,207 structures damaged or destroyed, and 2,170 acres burned as of August 11, 2023.
