Coaching sessions

Coaching sessions

I received this advice:

👉 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 "𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬". 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞.

I reflected.

The advice is very strong precisely because of its reverse impact.

As a coach it is essential to establish a relationship, a connection with the person you work with. But the relation will be counterproductive. It will violate the coach's commitment to impartiality and, implicitly, the quality of guiding manners.

That's why a coach is not a coach for his family and friends.

That's why, among other things, the session lasts an hour. Because we have work to do.

♦️"How long does the Coaching process take?" I am asked.

♦️"How radical is the change you want?" I answer.

♦️"Is it enough just to meet in Coaching sessions?" I am asked.

♦️"How consistent are you?" I answer.

Life is a series of small decisions. A major change is, most of the time, all the small changes made at the right time. Consistent changes that become a habit.

Knowing something mentally does not mean that you can already apply that information. Applying it once does not mean that you have become accustomed to it.
