In his acceptance speech yesterday, Rep Ritchie Torres talked about how champions for justice and freedom use their voices to uplift and ennoble — and how being an outspoken champion is different from just taking a stand silently and letting the dialogue play out, online or in the street.
No wonder Ritchie Torres was awarded the Courage in Leadership Award at last nights Stand Together: Unity Strength Resilience Demonstration in Washington DC, and headlined the event along with stars like Tiffany Haddish, Idan Raichel, John Ondrasik, Ada Pasternak, hostage families, US, Canadian and Israeli leaders — including diverse leaders from the Druze and Arab-Israeli community.
