Conquer Negativity Through Action
Why Doing is Better Than Overthinking When Battling Life's Negatives

Conquer Negativity Through Action

Source of motivation

“Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer the negative elements in your life, don’t sit at home and think about it. Go out and get busy!” — Dale Carnegie

Why did we invest in Khyaal?

Take a look at my previous interview with Hemanshu, the co-founder of Khyaal.

The rate of aging in the population is increasing in India and globally. The elderly find it difficult to adopt digital technologies and processes. There is a steep learning curve for seniors to get accustomed to smartphones, apps, online banking, and more. Khyaal is established to fill this gap by offering digital literacy, community, and specialized financial services.

We met Hemanshu a long time ago and decided to invest in Khyaal primarily because of him and his strong founding team. (I had detailed the framework for our investment decisions here.) His previous entrepreneurial experience, the technical expertise of the team, marketing experience, and operational skills give a significant advantage to the entire team. I find Hemanshu’s communication skills to be very effective. They work harmoniously as a team and keep us regularly informed.

Also, India offers a large and yet untapped market opportunity. Today there are more than 140 million elderly people, and this number is expected to double in the next five years. Khyaal is targeting this demographic in India, and there is no barrier to their expansion to other geographies.

I believe there is an excellent opportunity for innovative products and services designed specifically for the elderly. If Khyaal can find product-market fit in India, I think they can issue 300,000 prepaid credit cards in the next five years and expand to other global markets.

I am excited to support their mission to enable seniors to live their lives happily and independently.
