🧰The Courage Toolbox

If there is one muscle I am building outside the gym this week, it is the muscle of ‘BEING MY WORD’

Fasten your seat belt because this is one muscle that gives access to freedom and power. A Gamechanger💪

Here is an experience that is etched in my heart. Early this year, I was part of creating the first ever Ultimate Being Experience in India. It altered my life forever. As I began to unpack the gifts of expansion I had received, I decided to share my personal reflections from the journey.  25 people registered for this session including Steve Hardison, the Ultimate Coach.

Steve sent me this message the previous day. “The only way I wont be there is if I can't get in or I am dead”

The next day only one person joined the meeting and it was Steve! It was 5am!  Steve demonstrated an invaluable lesson on BEING HIS WORD.

What could be some reasons people might give for not showing up for the meeting?

  1. I overslept
  2. I forgot
  3. I was unwell
  4. I was exhausted
  5. I was traveling …..

And the list is infinite! Possibilities are endless

What could be some reasons that Steve showed up for the meeting at 5 am?

  1. He did what he said he would do.

There is only ONE possibility. His commitment to his word.

I had a realization that living with integrity transforms all our relationships and the most powerful one is ourselves.

One analogy that Ankush Jain shared is ‘the mother’s commitment’ being the most powerful commitment.  "If you are a mother, will your kids go hungry?” The answer is an empathic NO - there is simply no hesitation. A mother will do whatever it takes so the kids have food on the table. That is commitment and it has gravitational power!

Inspired by powerful conversations within our coaching school cohort, I have started doing an integrity audit of my commitments. I can see clearly where I am being my word and where I am not being my word. What I am doing is closing the gaps, re-committing and being my word. Do your own integrity audit.

This is how I am bringing my ‘A’ game to my professional practice and in turn support my clients to see the power of building this muscle.  Like a mothers commitment!

What are your thoughts and experiences about 'being your word'.

📚 Book I’m Recommending

Dare to Lead - Brave Work, Tough Conversations, Whole hearts ~ Brene Brown

No alt text provided for this image

The magic is in choosing courage over comfort; choosing what is right over what is fun, fast, or easy; and choosing to practice your values rather than simply professing them!

💡 Quote I’m Pondering

“Live so that when your children think of fairness, caring, and integrity, they think of you.” - H. Jackson Brown Jr.

🌟Action that inspires

Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching ~ C.S Lewis

If no one is watching, how pleased would you be if you were forced to binge watch the last 24 hours of your life?

What would you see and hear?

😄 Playground

This is anything that makes you either Grin, Gasp and Giggle.

Grin because you’re excited with possibility. Gasp because you’re thinking “How am I ever going to pull this off?”  Giggle because you’ll LOVE IT if it actually happens!

Integrity is in the air. I have taken up a challenge this week.

I have committed to find a quiet place and watch TBOLITNFL. It is an acronym for 'The Best Offensive Lineman in the NFL'. It is not just a video. It is an experience. It provokes possibility. It is a wake up call to tap into our own greatness.

Would you like to take up this challenge with me? Here is the link to the TBOLITNFL video. It is going to take a serious commitment just to watch it. To watch it about you!

🪄 I am creating a space to share what I have learnt on my journey from being a part of the AJC Coaching School. This will be the first time I am offering to do this since I joined the school. If you are curious and looking for transformation, please commit to be there on11th June at 6pm India, 12.30pm GMT. You can register here

Wake up. It's time to live big.

Thanks for reading. I hope you find my thoughts useful for your own journey. I’d love to hear from you. Your feedback is a gift. Just reply and hit send. You can also email me at farah@interactconsulting.in

Farah Ismail am glad we are speaking about commitment. I have been a great believer of sticking to my commitments at any cost but often questioned myself when I saw peoples lack of commitment to meet me half way. I was very disappointed. But am glad that I decided to still be committed. Your newsletter today reinforced that.

A powerful thought Farah Ismail .in my view there is no other way to live except with integrity. When you live a life of integrity in alignment with your highest values, you find true meaning in your Life.

Thanks for sharing so much wisdom here, Farah. I love the Dare to Lead book too. I listen to it over and over on Audible to catch different points each time. Absorbing wisdom needs to be done in layers.
