CREATING BUSINESS CERTAINTY IN 2022

CREATING BUSINESS CERTAINTY IN 2022

One of the biggest challenges that I (and possibly you) have had to face as a practice owner over the last almost two years now, has been….

UNCERTAINTY

Uncertainty about almost everything.

Uncertainty about….

- How long this whole Covid thing is going to last.

- What the inevitable ‘next wave’ is going to look like.

- How the inevitable ‘next wave’ is going to impact our lives.

- How this is going to impact our practices over the long term.

- How this is going to impact our clinical team and support staff.

- Whether we can keep up the effort it has taken to get through to this point.

- How we are ever going to be able to support our client community fully (including those yet to become clients) given the huge demand.

And these are just to name a few.

As a Psychologist I know that change and uncertainty is just a normal part of life, but far out, this is freaking ridiculous.

There is only so much resilience one can muster up.

There is only so much positive reframing one can engage in.

There is only so much of ‘doing all the things’ that one can do in order to feel as normal as possible or to make things seem as normal as possible that one person can do.

Am I right….?

Looking back to 12 months ago, we were all so excited and full of positivity about 2021 and how things would be better! I regret to say that 2021 turned out to be a disappointing, under-performing little shit of a year. As a result, I again find myself looking at 2022 with bright – but this time more realistic – eyes.

I know now that the one thing that IS certain is that Covid will still be around for quite some time to come. It is no longer about ‘pivoting’ in order to get through.

It is about finding opportunity in life and in business.

It is about finding new ways of prioritising health and family amidst the challenge.

It is about finding new ways of helping by stepping up and answering the call.

Right now – as I’m writing this on New Year’s Eve – I am standing on the edge, as I await the leap from 2021 into 2022. Each year during this period, I find myself engaging in a lot of reflection.

A lot of my reflection to date has been around how to do things differently – better – on the home front in 2022. As a parent, this is an important pursuit for me. I’m not a perfect parent – never will be – but I will never stop working on being better at it.

Similarly, as I step into 2022, I will cast my mind towards improving my leadership and business ownership. I will do this for each of my business entities as I sit down to strategically, consciously, and deliberately plan out my business goals for 2022, starting with my private practice, The Psych Professionals. I do this planning, despite the UNCERTAINTY that remains within the industry specifically and the community more generally.

Doing this planning allows me to sit and GAIN CERTAINTY.

I know it is ‘only a plan’ but I also know that if I do the planning, I will deliberately be building my practice BY DESIGN (MY design) – instead of allowing uncertainty to dictate its growth (or lack thereof), its possible stagnation, or even it’s possible decline.

I won’t stand for that.

I WILL have a plan.

I WILL have my CERTAINTY, all whilst knowing that UNCERTAINTY is a given. These two things do not have to be mutually exclusive. I know that the more certainty I can CREATE, the better and more resilient I get at managing the UNCERTAINTY when (not if) it arises.

If you are also craving certainty and want to step into CERTAINTY as much as possible in 2022, then I want to invite you to join me at the 2022 Blueprint Planning Session. This is a 3-hour workshop where we will plan out your 2022.

I would love to walk you through creating your 2022 practice growth by design during our time together.

Remember, it is my job, my passion and my purpose to help you build a practice you can’t stop smiling about.
