Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey receives Key to the City of Plano
Plano Mayor John Muns presented Plano native and Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey with a Key to the City after a record-breaking season in his first year with the team.
Muns also proclaimed May 22 as "Brandon Aubrey Day," encouraging all Plano citizens to congratulate him for his successful career.
Aubrey is a 2013 graduate of Plano Senior High and was a star soccer player for the Wildcats. He played four years at Notre Dame, totaling 15 goals in 76 appearances as a defender. He was then drafted 21st overall in Major League Soccer's SuperDraft by Toronto FC in 2017 and ended his soccer career in 2018. Four years later, Aubrey signed with the upstart Stallions and quickly became one of the league's top kickers, earning USFL honors in 2022 and leading the team to two championships.
He joined the Dallas Cowboys as a kicker in 2023. In his debut game, he made two field goals and four extra points. He was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week in week eight and week 14 of the season and NFC Special Teams Player of the Month in October and December 2023.
