Your money archetype impacts your success, whether you are aware of it or not. In fact, 95% of our thoughts, beliefs and attitudes about money are formed in our unconscious minds. If you don’t know your money archetype then you are losing out on key insights that can transform your finances and your business. 

What is a money archetype?  It is a pattern of thinking and behaving around your finances. Typically people fall into eight different categories. These include Accumulator, Alchemist, Celebrity, Connector, Maverick, Nurture, Romantic and Ruler. Each archetype has unique strengths and challenges. Discovering yours is like breaking a secret code that makes you finally understand why you act the way you do around money. This gives you the power to change unwanted habits and achieve your business and revenue goals quicker.  

I love this particular model as there are no “perfect” archetypes. Like human beings, every archetype has its flaws and its superpowers. When I debrief the money assessment results with my clients, I see their eyes light up. They feel seen and empowered to use this information to improve their financial wellbeing and business success. It’s why I built this assessment tool into all my coaching engagements.

1. Boundaries: If you are a Ruler, you love what you do and flourish doing it. You also may find yourself giving in to workaholic tendencies that leave you burnt out. Work-life integration is the key to long-term success and it may be a lesson you need to learn to truly thrive. 
2. Investing. If you are an Accumulator, you are great at saving money but find taking a business risk or investing in your own professional development difficult. Learning to let go of money is just as important as saving it when it comes to business growth. 
3. Mindset: If you are an Alchemist, you tend to be an idealist and feel the system is rigged against those with less financial resources. Your distrust of wealth and what it means to have it, may block you from earning your true value. Shifting your money mindset to embrace all that wealth can do for you and others, could be a game changer for your business. 
4. Negotiating: If you are a Nurturer, you may struggle to negotiate or avoid it all together. You put others' needs first. This is an admirable trait but not when it comes to setting financial boundaries and getting paid for your true value. Changing your mindset and employing proven negotiating tactics could take your business to the next level. 
5. Financial management: If you are a Celebrity, you love being in the spotlight and all the exciting parts of growing a business. You enjoy spending money and often, buy luxury items because “you deserve them” or simply feel you have to dress for your ultimate success. What many don’t know, is you may avoid more routine tasks like budgeting, sending out invoices, and managing your business finance. It may be time to stop ignoring the operational side of your enterprise so you can fly high and have a solid foundation to fall back on.
