ASME – The American Society of Mechanical Engineers
ASME Certificate - DLE renews ASME Stamp Certificates (ASME U, U2, S and R). Bravo to our QAQC Manager, Mr. Wale Fagbamila and his team for the successful conclusion of the 2024 ASME Stamps Recertification Process. The ASME Certificate of Authorization is a testament to our capability and adherence to the highest standards in the manufacture and maintenance of pressure vessels.
What Our Stamps Stand For:
Purpose
The U stamp certifies that a manufacturer meets the quality control system requirements stated in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC). Manufacturers with this stamp are permitted to design, fabricate, inspect, and test unfired pressure vessels.
Pressure vessels bearing the U stamp meet the requirements of a pressure vessel described in Section VIII Division 1 of the BPVC.
In order to retain the use of the stamp, manufacturers must update
design and fabrication processes regularly and are subject to routine inspections and examinations.
The U2 Stamp means that a Vessel meets the standards for Section VIII Division 2 Alternative Rules. The ASME U2 stamp is for unfired pressure vessels not built to ASME section 8 div. 1 standards, but under the alternative rules, has been inspected and found to comply with acceptable construction methods. A U-1 form signed by an authorized inspector must be filed for each such vessel, along with a description of the methods of construction used.
The ASME S Stamp is a notable certification that enables companies to manufacture power boilers, power pipelines, and
ASME Pressure Retaining Parts following the guidelines outlined in Section I of the latest edition of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
The R stamp is awarded by The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI). It allows the recipient to repair and alter pressure-retaining equipment, including pressure vessels and boilers.
In order to receive the R stamp and Certificate of Authorization, a manufacturer or organization must meet the following requirements.
The above certifications all of which DLE hold are site specific and are valid for the location named in the certificate. These certifications ensure that our dedication to maintaining stringent quality controls across this segment of our operations is not compromised.
