Empowering Communities Through Dialogue: Marang's 16 Days of Activism Event

On 5 December 2024, the Marang Career Information Centre led an inspiring community initiative in Manyeding Village, aligning with the global 16 Days of Activism campaign. This annual event calls for united action against gender-based violence (GBV) and the promotion of safety, justice, and equality.
The day commenced with a peaceful march led by women from the community. Their determined steps symbolised not just awareness but a collective commitment to addressing the profound issue of GBV. This march was more than a symbolic act—it was a testament to the resilience and strength of the community in the face of adversity.

Leadership and Encouragement from Bogosi jwa Ba GA Jantjie
A highlight of the event was the presence of Bogosi jwa Ba GA Jantjie, represented by Kgosi Pako Molema, who delivered a powerful message of encouragement and support. The Tribal Council's involvement underscored the importance of traditional leadership in fostering unity and driving meaningful change.

As the dialogue unfolded, the community members pledged to continue raising awareness about GBV and related social issues. They committed to leveraging their resources and collaborating across sectors to create a safer and more supportive environment for all.

Marang Career Information Centre’s initiative in Manyeding Village demonstrates the power of grassroots action and collective responsibility.
