Just keeps growing from strength to strength, it already looks like we'll have 22 episodes sponsored next year, that's before I even try to sell the sponsorships to people! If all goes to plan, we'll be upping to at least every 2 weeks, if not weekly.
On Tuesday I met with Henry Morris and Ella Shaw from AMFG to discuss a new commercial partnership, a bit of a first for both companies. AMFG were looking for an affiliate partner with a network they could reach, and I was looking to diversify revenue models. It also helps that they've developed an amazing tool to cut quoting times down by up to 90%. I wouldn't bother endorsing it if I didn't think it was valuable to someone in my network.

Tuesday afternoon I had the opportunity to introduce myself to Henry Anson from The Manufacturer . As I said to Henry on the call, "I'm always looking to make friends"! 😁 If I can find industry partners with the same vision of supporting UK Manufacturing then why not.
Wednesday morning was a check in session with one of our advisors - Steve Tipson . Always good to offload the hundreds of thoughts in my head to someone on the outside, that's not my wife!
After that, I headed up north, calling into YASKAWA UK & Ireland fantastic new office to get the guided tour by Jonny Grey . The guided tour then continued into the evening at a local boozer, sampling Sunderland's finest Guiness. We managed to put the world to rights and put a marketing strategy together for next year. Successful night.
The reason for the 200 mile trip to Sunderland was for the EMCON Engineering & Manufacturing Show at the Sunderland Live arena, put on by the Engineering and Manufacturing Network . Small, dedicated show for the Northeast and it was brilliant! I only had a tabletop space but it's all I needed. I wasn't not talking to someone for more than 5 minutes.
The highlight was obviously doing a live episode of the Podcast. Skipped breakfast and struggled with lunch, nervous for it. Not like it was a massive crowd but just having other people in the same room, whilst you've got a camera in your face, has a way of getting under your skin. Once we got into it, it was fine.
Prof Alan Norbury CEng FIET FIKE was a brilliant guest and let us all into his life (46 years) at Siemens, what employers need to do to retain young people, how his father was his engineering mentor and that he sadly lost both parents during the pandemic.
I say it so often, it's the reason I do the podcast. We all have so many stories to tell, where else do you get to tell them?
I'll be on a social media panel next week and it's something I'll be talking about. Everyone assumes they're ordinary, or boring, or nothing's ever happened to them. But, it's not true. We're all unique, all had different experiences - good, bad and weird! I've got some great tips to help people write social content and tell their stories, authentically. I'll save it for next week's newsletter, though.
Long day yesterday, followed by baby Arthur waking us up 7 times through the night, knackered today. Why do baby's like to roll onto their front and cry, and not just roll back onto their back?! 🥲
