Farmer Meeting

"Well done is better than well said." - Benjamin Franklin

These days there are a lot of options when it comes to networking.

Heck, the platform you are reading this Newsletter on is, IMO, a massive, worldwide, online, 24/7, business networking event.

The all have their merits, but recently I was playing around with the Combinatory Play method that we teach in our Purposeful Creative Thinking training and I hit upon a unique networking idea.

It requires a little more time and effort than typical networking does, but I believe it will help build deeper connections, faster.

Oh, and if someone were so inclined, I believe it could be turned into a business.

Farmer Meeting

A different sort of networking meeting where, rather than meeting indoors, the meeting is held outdoors at a plot of land that where, from raw soil, a garden is created.

Everything from tilling the soil, to planting the seeds, removing weeds and harvesting the crops becomes part of the process.

As the crops are harvested, the participants in that plot of land can either split up the harvested food, donate it to a food bank or homeless shelter, or sell it at a local Farmer’s Market.

This should be decided up front.

To keep the process even more interesting and inspire the best in everyone, multiple plots could be side by side.

People would be assigned to a team that works a particular plot and each would compare their progress along the way.

This would culminate when the food is harvested and teams would be designated win, place, show - or, also ran.

Even for those who do not win one of the top spots, this shared work for a common purpose will do more to form tight-knit bonds than any sort of traditional networking will do.

What are your thoughts?

Bob Sager - I'm a creative storyteller. I'm also an "outside of the box thinker." In my industry, along with most others, facts are facts until someone decides they aren't. For example, canine nutrition. Conveying messages through stories isn't new. Taking a creative approach catches the eyes of others. At least it does for me."Humm, I never considered this." Hopefully, this approach brings the reader back to have a 2nd look and think.
