Finding Strength in Tough Times: A Message of Hope and Motivation
It's been a really tough week. We've all faced challenges that seem insurmountable, days that feel like a constant uphill battle, and moments when we just don’t know how to keep going. As a leader, I’ve seen and experienced these struggles firsthand, and I want to share a message of hope and motivation to help us all push through the tough times.
Acknowledge the Struggle
It’s essential to acknowledge the struggle. Pretending everything is fine when it’s not only adds to the burden. Recognize your feelings, understand that it’s okay to not be okay, and know that many others are facing similar challenges. This is the first step towards finding a way forward.
Remember Your Why
In the midst of adversity, it’s crucial to remember why we do what we do. Reflect on your goals, your dreams, and the reasons that drive you. Whether it’s your family, your passion, or a commitment to make a difference, let these reasons fuel your determination. When the road gets tough, your ‘why’ can be the anchor that keeps you grounded and focused.
Take Small Steps Forward
When the big picture feels overwhelming, break it down into smaller, manageable steps. Celebrate each small victory along the way. These incremental successes build momentum and gradually, those small steps add up to significant progress. It’s not about making giant leaps every day but about consistently moving forward, even if it’s just a little bit at a time.
Lean on Your Support System
You don’t have to go through tough times alone. Reach out to your support system—friends, family, colleagues, or mentors. Share your struggles and let others offer their support and perspective. Sometimes, a listening ear or a few words of encouragement can make all the difference.
Practice Self-Care

In challenging times, self-care is not a luxury but a necessity. Take time to recharge, whether it’s through exercise, meditation, a hobby, or simply taking a break. Protecting your mental and physical well-being is crucial for maintaining the strength to keep going. Remember, you cannot pour from an empty cup.
Embrace Growth and Learning
Adversity often brings with it lessons and opportunities for growth. Instead of viewing challenges as setbacks, see them as experiences that can teach and strengthen you. Embrace the learning process and allow it to shape you into a more resilient and capable individual.
Visualize a Brighter Future
Finally, visualize a brighter future. Imagine the possibilities that lie ahead and the rewards that will come from persevering through tough times. Hope is a powerful motivator, and envisioning a positive outcome can inspire you to keep pushing forward, no matter how difficult the present may seem.
A Message to You
To everyone reading this, know that you are not alone. The challenges we face today will not last forever. Hold onto hope, keep taking steps forward, and believe in your ability to overcome. Your strength, resilience, and determination will carry you through.
Together, we can navigate these tough times and emerge stronger on the other side. Keep going, keep believing, and remember that brighter days are ahead.
Stay hopeful, stay motivated, and never give up.

6moI have always found you inspiring, Justin, even before our days at Dale Carnegie class when I learned more about your own past struggles. Now that I am going through the loss of my husband and wondering WHY there is a "keep going forward" to even bother with - your words resonate and encourage my heart a bit. As they always do. Thank you for sharing.
