First class Datahack students

First class Datahack students

Here they are! The first brave students who decided go ahead in a eight week program to become real BigData experts: José Ramón Peguerina, Javier Moralo, Rubén Martínez, Raquel Adán, Pablo Jiménez, Daniel Velasco, Antonio Calderón, Fernando Rosales, Daniel Ruiz Capilla, and Marcelo Molina, coming from different places, with different profiles, but all of them BigData enthusiast.

Up to now, they've been working acquiring competences and practices in Statistics, Query&Reporting, manipulating files,  Machine Learning, Visualization, data analysis, with SAS, R, Python, TibcoSportfire, Qlik, Mongo,...

They're working in things like, improve and find the very best model to solve some real business issues; analyzing big amounts of data; finding the proper library, discovering hide trends in data, and describing and explaining the findings in the way an end user could understand it.

Now they're immerse into Hadoop & Spark world, before going into deep learning algorithms.  They're starting their own AWS Hadoop instance, developing map reduce processes (at least once!), and learning the whole Hadoop Ecosystem, to be able to apply Machine Learning processes integrated with Hadoop, R and Spark, among different format data files.

Most of them are full time dedicated to the course, but two of them, are combining their daily work with the course, classes, exercises... and they're still alive. I don't really know when they slept. Now I remember Ruben's developing a robot to identify lies comparing facial gestures.

It's really being a hard work. Too many new things to learn (or remember), new concepts, new ways of doing things, a new paradigm, in a short period, but they're making a good performance, and I guess they're tired, but happy with the new age and opportunities ahead.

I may say, I'm very proud of them, and also proud of the teachers and the rest of the team, dedicated, experienced, providing the very best of them... I may say:

we're lucky all the talent we have

Definitely, Datahack is a good place to learn, practice and grow.

Enhorabuena, y ojalá sea el comienzo de una exitosa carera en el mundo de la enseñanza del Big Data. !!!!Mis mejores y mayores deseos de éxito!!!!!!
