The Gateway to Inner Peace

If there’s one precious gift that you can give to yourself in this life, it has to be the jewel of inner peace and calm. But where can you find it?

We live in a world where we’re taught to believe that our health and wellbeing are shaped by the conditions that surround us. It’s very rare to encounter someone who has found the elusive oasis of calm that can only be found within ourselves. Yet, this is the ultimate purpose of meditation. This is the pathway that leads to a world of stillness where our emotional and mental energies are left outside. This is where we find the silence that opens up access to our inner reserves of wisdom. This is a place within our consciousness where profound insights and answers may be revealed.   

If the latest figures from the global medical community are teaching us anything, it’s that we have become increasingly dependent on pharmaceuticals to help us sleep, relax and cope with life’s constant round of pressures. The ancient methods of deep, natural relaxation seem quiet alien to our modern culture. We’ve lost touch with the wonderful benefits that accompany the simple, daily practice of mindfulness and meditation. We can always blame social media for these problems but the issue can be traced to the arrival of the first television sets in our homes back in the 1950s. It seems that we’ve been addicted to the small screen ever since.

So, is this a call to ban TV and social media? Of course not. It’s a gentle reminder that the treasures of inner peace are waiting to be discovered as you turn your attention away from the electronic screen and inwards towards the vast domain of your own consciousness. Is it easy? Probably not at first. Our minds are so willful and easily distracted that we can encounter enormous resistance as we begin our daily practice. But, without focusing on any particular goal or objective, we learn to breathe more deeply and gently let go of our thoughts and feelings. The rest will follow its natural course and lead us to deeper levels of peace, awareness and tranquility. The benefits for our health and wellbeing cannot be overstated. The journey will reveal more to you than you could possibly imagine.
