'GLG leads the way with their levels of professionalism,' Network Member Todd Chapman
Sydney-based expert Todd Chapman is an operations specialist and trusted advisor for leaders looking to navigate change, overcome complex challenges, and drive performance for their organizations. A longtime executive at several top Australian airlines, Todd first encountered GLG’s platform in 2022, a year after launching his aviation advisory firm, Leading Edge Management Consulting. Since then, he has been helping clients across Australia, while sharing his insights with GLG users around the world.
We spoke with Todd to learn more about his first year as a GLG Network Member.
What has your experience with GLG been like so far?
My relationship with GLG has been fantastic, thanks very much to Hannah Piggott [Client Solutions, GLG], who gave me the first call and onboarded me. She’s a fantastic partner.
The first thing that impressed me about GLG was their integrity. My role is not to provide direction, but to ask the right questions and pressure test GLG clients' thinking about organizational changes, transformations, and strategy. What I found is there are extensive systems in place to ensure that this occurs. It made me feel very comfortable.
When I line GLG against their competitors, I find they are far easier to deal with by almost every measure. They lead the way with their levels of professionalism, energy, systems, communication, payment timings, and so on.

How have you seen the GLG model work for clients?
Ultimately, the clients are trying to manage risk. They need someone who can help them feel more confident and informed. They need someone to ask questions they have not thought of already, and to see risks or opportunities from different angles. It’s actually a very specific kind of support I provide – and the value for clients of obtaining that specific insight or assurance is clear.
On either side of the planet, you can have two strangers: one with an incredibly specific need and another with very specific expertise. GLG brings them together in a professional environment, so both parties feel safe and protected. There’s integrity in the connection. I think that’s pretty cool.
What has been the biggest surprise for you?
As a GLG Network Member, I’ve had to build relationships on the phone quickly – and determine how I can help – even when English isn’t the client's first language. That was something I didn’t expect, but a skill I’ve really enjoyed developing with GLG. I’ve also found myself meeting incredibly interesting people from all over the world.
Thanks to my career and advisory business, I'm able to quickly understand business challenges and help organizations establish a way forward. The match between my skills and GLG clients' needs has been excellent – even beyond the areas in which I’m used to advising. The algorithms and people at GLG who make those connections do a really good job.
