Going Backward
It was when the first-ever railroad over a mountain range was built. A world-famous engineer was appointed as the chief architect of the project.
Once, his wife noticed that he had been unmindful and restless for the last few days. She knew something was wrong.
When asked about it, he replied he couldn't move forward anymore because of the land's geometry and geology.
The wife, seeking to comfort him, casually said, "Well, if you can't go forward, come backward!"
And it was a light-bulb moment for him. The idea revolutionized civil engineering.
Sometimes, going backward is part of going forward.
